changed the fuel filter, drove it 400 miles, picked up a couple LS engines for my 74, ran it on a dyno for the first time, headache ensued. truck ran good

05 green ecsb Silverado LS 4x4. I got a decent deal on it because the bed is beat up and he said it needed #2 & 7 injectors because it runs bad after a few minutes. I drove it a mile up the road, pulled over and ice picked the connectors then drove it an hour and a half home with no issues

It is very strange to think how much buying a worn out lb7 and joining this forum has influenced my life. If I hadn't bought that pile I'd have never learned enough to get my first mechanic job let alone the job I have now with Caterpillar.

Last week went to NC took some state routes came down and stupid steep winding grade... Well got the powwr steering fluid nice and hot... Smelles slightly burnt brakes became really spungy at the bottom.. found a pull off about 3 miles after the hill backside of the power steering pump was 190° surface temp.... Im sure iy was alot higher coming down the grade.
So i plumbed in a 18,000lb tranny cooler

Should help keep fluid cooler since there is not PS fluid cooler on these trucks

Oh yeah cooler on PS does wonders. Was getting a weird noise turn left from a stop. Since adding cooler no more.

I like the 2-tone valve covers. Really ties everything together with the black of the block and the red of the piping.
It was originally going up be all red but I messed up my lowers so I painted them
This is a melted 40A relay. I have 3 like this.. said relays are used to control my aux oil cooler fans.. and controlled by switchable ground.
they fans pull ~25A each after startup
And have a relay per fan.
Im running 8g wire with a 30A breaker 8" from battery
Relays are 12" wire lenght from fans.
Right now im Pretty sure going to full blown starter style solenoid

Was gonna go race but got rained out so drove home in the rain, it's stripped so no defrost. Nice and slow.
