im more curious if the summer heat while towing will still well over come the added cooling from the pan. id definitely like to see first hand how it does. just have to buy one and get it on :D
Where you live it still might but it can't hurt imo.

Deep pans also help control windage much better but IDK if the duramax has that sort of issue.

Not that I can see.

2 qts more than their standard or deep pan?

2 more qts over their standard pan, which is what we are comparing. Unless you have a lifted truck, with the front diff dropped down, their deep pan won't fit. But with our pan, it will fit on a stock height or even lowered truck.

At stock rpm range I think the upper pan controls windage fine. At higher rpm maybe not so much.

My biggest reason for wanting to try this is my low oil pressure more than temp or windage issues (if anyone thinks this will help that if they believe it to be an issue even). 250kpa at 1800 rpm isn't quite enough as at 1600 it's down to 210kpa. 194kpa is opening pressure for the squirter which is just a bit too close for my liking.

That's roughly where my LMM is. Cruising at 1600rpm the gauge reads just over 200 kpa. Not sure how accurate the gauge is though.

Compared to efi logs which bounce around mine is pretty close.
What's the skinny on your lmm? Stock? Big tires?

Mods are in my sig. It's far from stock and I have 35's. I drive on the highway in 5th. I've put 17000 highway kms on the truck since I bought it. About 500kms have been in 6th.

Dan, I couldnt find it thru all the arguing, but how did you guys find an extra quart of capacity without making the pan any deeper? Or is it another inch or so deeper and Im not seeing it?
