Teflon tape seals the fitting. I had a bung turned down; tapped and stuck it behind the fitting on the inside and used high temp loctite to lock it down with the addition of some right stuff in between.

So I have question(s) here.

About the groove in the block, which method are you using? Fire ring or o ring, and why? I thought the newer dmax heads clamped very well and all that's really needed was good studs, like arp 625's or better, or getting the block machined for larger head studs was more common or typical for a duramax than the grove technique(s)....at who's recommendation did you agree to do the ring procedure and why?

I'm not one to scoff at another's attempts to maintain longevity based off good research, so I'm not trying to or looking to set you up for a cut down or anything, just genuinely curious.

Cuz judging by the build, that 1000hp number you threw out could be your break in tune:eek:

the engine looks like it's going to be built to handle more like 2000hp

You sandbaggin for future races already:joker:

Anyways, again, looks sick man, I'm super jelly....im H8ing U on The n side

Keep it up:thumb:

I figured I would take my time and try to do it once.lol:roflmao:
Really though, i did not want to dump 10k and then the next month wish I would have put 5k more. I figure I would roll the bucket for a while and humble myself.
There really is no rush, so that is my reasoning. Plus it takes time to save up funds:banging:

Looks like it's comin right along!
I saw the box those ovals were in was a Ross racing pistons box, but I thought you got Jon's ovals? Does Ross make an oval bowl for the d-max?

I forgot the flywheel torque procedure and specs. The GM Book shown shows the factory torque specs and procedure.
Anyone know if this is also correct for a SoCal billet flywheel with ARP studs?

and ARP Studs?

Do I really need the pinned water pump? My SoCal tig welded pump looks like it has good penetration.
Consensus please...
