Not sure if this is true but is it like a Edge box on the plug in? If so can we not have it that way and set up more for a hard wire instaltion?

Not trying to be picky:angel:

If it locks by MPH and 95% throttle, guess it wouldn't work for street driving to lock the tc for increased mpg while driving slow in the city? Interested in having it lock as low as 25-30, but with almost no throttle and less than 5 psi boost.

isnt that what tow/haul mode is for though?

In my own opinion this product is for people who are looking to get that last .1 at the track.......Not really so people can loaf around town at 1,000rpm locked up because they think its gonna improve their mileage or otherwise gain something else. ;)

First of all you risk crashing your truck the converter might not unlock fast enough if you have to slam on the brakes. Second of all. Its not gonna help your fuel economy. Half the time you are driving around town you are in DFCO mode anyway, so its not gonna make one bit of difference. 3rd, its not good for the transmission primary pump to be running with the converter locked up at such low RPM's. And 4th, the duramax doesnt make any power below 1,900rpm. Yes its a diesel. No its not a cummins. You cant drive around at 1,400-1,500rpm locked up and expect the truck to go anywhere; you are actually going to use MORE fuel just because its going to sit there smoking, trying to spool the turbo, but its not going to be able to.

just my opinion.

Question..other than the obvious price difference, how does this differ from the co-pilot relative to TC loc-up, especially in race mode on the co-pilot? Second question, what is the potential harm to the tranny or shafts? Does this have the potential to freak out the tranny and make it lock and potentially snap a shaft?

I second this question... For those of us who have no connection points other than sensors and the computer plug ins... How would one wire this in? Just splice in between certain wires?

Thanks Brayden!

in my opinion the copilot make sugestions to lock , this peice actually by passes the tcm for lock up so its garenteed to lock . i have felt no hard lockups or anything else that make me worry about hard parts .

Copilot unlocks the gain valves and that can make the Alli suseptable to spike pressures. I like this idea much better.

So it worked good trent? lockup happened much quicker (end of first or start of second?)... what did you find that way? I need some help in that department myself and have been waiting to hear how you feel this did before taking that plunge.... Still need to sell a BOV before i make any more 'fun' purchases though :)

Awesome times in MOntanna too. We have to wait 3 more weeks before i'll be seeing you at the track so won't get to chat with you much before then...

I will be at the sand dunes if i get the trans lines fixed soon :) Where are the pulls? AF? I'm scared to pull though... you know i have like a 1000 HP per wheel :rofl:and might break something

I'd like to come watch some pulls first and learn how they work, how to do it, etc... i think my truck could probably do ok but i'd like to see how it all works and what i'd need to get set up.

Well if osmething changes with the sand dunes trip, maybe i'll make the trip down there.... but really, not excited about the prospect of wrapping my driveline around the muffler bearing and such.... i don't really have any of the beefed up stuff Matt says i should have to pull.... and that scares me :baby:

My lock-up controller is on and the truck is happy (as in not throwing codes or going into limp). I am racing tomorrow so I will get some data logs of when lock-up occurs under power to compare to.

When in race mode, my CoPilot most definitely locks the converter every time. Not in race mode, it might as well be off (as far as the converter goes).

My truck ran a nice number finally yesterday on a hot & slick race track. Truck pulls hard through the middle of the track now. The lock-up controller works well and with that hurdle cleared I can get busy on improving the short times. Very happy with it.

No worries about shafts or hardparts. It's still a PWM apply. No reason for it to freak out the trans since it's already trying to lock the TCC, we just help it.

Another differnece is the price, and adjustability. The 6 speed models can be programmed to lock at whatever point you want. The 5 speed models will be able to be programmed soon.

There are other outputs that I might unlock as well for this box.. They're programmable as well. You can turn on water or nitrous based on vss, boost, or throttle. These are functions that are already built in, but aren't used.

Anybody on the bottle that wants to test this out get a hold of me... It would work great to turn on the second stage based on VSS.

Thanks,

Brayden
