My guess, converter is on its way out.
Any way to test that outside throwing a TC in it?
Does a V2 not give you the ability to watch TCC slip speed data, or command it even?
Tcc doesn't slip.. Never has slipped... If it did that would be easy
And we all know the word "easy" does not apply to a Duramax at all lol. :roflmao: Really hope to see you get it figured out Adam, and your luck to turn around.
Have you cut open a trans filter? More than just a clutch can go bad in a converter, as I'm sure you're aware.
Every time I hear a rubber isolated damper going bad they make a knocking noise, more or less.
Sump filter for converter material not the spin on.

No I haven't. Last spin on change there was barely anything on the magnetic.. Yes I'm aware..
Phil talloy of DPC called me back.. He made pretty good point... If the TC is going bad it's going to carry-on regardless what gear its in..
Kinda make me second gues buying the TC... Other hand Transtar isn't open on weekends and it would be much to run in and return it Monday plus they are only place local AFAIK that had one in stock..
Got alot to-do this weekend.. Almost the complete underisde is coated in oil plus find the noise..
Depends on what part of TC is bad... If clutch problem, it will show up in the higher gears 5,6 before the lower. Engine has more leverage against tcc in the high gears, so to speak.
After the videos you've posted, I'd have blown that TC to hell. No way I could drive one that loose.
Is it possible that you have a cracked flex plate? Seems I have read about them causing strange vibration problems.
Well, humm. Idk Adam. Hopefully it is something easy.:spit:
Daaaaaaammmmmnnnnn!! Never saw one that bad. Had a few with a crack but you could hear it.IDK... never had a broken flexplate that I could still drive..
Did this on my 99 LBZ/4L85. This resulted in me being towed
