That sounds like progress then.. Regardless of whether you're commanding it or we are, mechanically it isn't locking under high loads.

i don't have a log to prove this though, i will once i get home however in about 45 minutes

Yes it could. With a co-pilot we may command the TCC to lock, but that doesn't mean that they have to pass that signal on. They intercept the signal to the TCC like we do, and there is no way to get "in front" of the co-pilot unless you tap into the tcc down at the trans like they do.

I unhooked the copilot harness and plugged the factory harness back in but I didn't touch anything inside the pan. I have a short 2wd log that just smoked the tires and a 4wd log that lasted until the boot blew.
I don't want to take away from paint's thread so I wont post them unless you guys tell me to.

the 4x4 one your converter isn't locking until late 3rd gear exactly like mine. What converter are you running?

Went through the log... the converter locked 861 mS after the shift to second gear. Check out the picture attached.

All you need to watch in the log is input speed and turbine speed. Input is yellow and turbine is blue. The point where they meet is where the lockup clutch is fully engaged. A steep drop (Negative slope) in turbine RPM denotes a quick apply. A long shallow gradual slope, like yours, indicates a slow apply. That converter is relatively tight coupling because there isn't much differential between input and turbine through the log.

I'd really like to see my lockup signal overlayed on your log if you can do that.

Yes it's 4:02 am.. the baby is awake and so am I :)

i didnt try with it off, the log shows what is going on, the lite lights in second gear but befor it has time to lock the light goes out, then comes bak on and a few 10ths of a sec after that it locks but now its already well into third gear!
