Why would any shop do work for free?

I think he thought ATS had a lot of profit in my engine build and had monetary wiggle room to cover refreshing up my trans while it was out. I tried to explain, the situation wasn't that simple and I bought that trans long ago and that had nothing to do with my build.

Tryin to figure out where to start looking for the P0746 issue that caused me limp on my first run out. A quick search shows mike recommending to check turbine and output speed sensors as well as the tone wheel in the transfer case. Anyone run into this code and if so how you dealt with it?

any updates?

Truck is still slammed down from racing last Friday night. So busy with work have not even had time to crank the Tbars back up. Still has my number on the windows too. I may not get any time to mess with it till this weekend. Spoke with Steve last night, looks like I wasn't even on my #5 race tune lol. Only reached 2400 pulse or so based on the log. I need to see if the switch is working properly.

Little update... Had a clutch test done today with a Tech 2 and when commanded to 4th gear it went straight to 5th. C3s are kaput. Upon being informed of the results of that test ATS instructed me to send it to them and they will fix it.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank Mike L. He not only spent time over the phone with me giving instructions on how to diag. this issue, he helped the GM tech make sense of the findings as well. I am grateful for Mikes help despite me giving him lip in the past and owning a purple Alli. It's obvious he cares about helping people reguardless of their choices.

Shipping the purple bomb back to headquarters tomorrow:roflmao:
Get faster at yanking that puppy every time! Had a lot of fun today, felt good to wrench on my own truck again:thumb:

Torque converter bolts did not have loctite on em which for my sake today wasn't altogether a bad thing lol. They did have a special washer on them though that kept the tension on the bolt. Got my first look at the flexplate and glad to see it was the one I paid for lol. Hopefully they turn this puppy around pretty quick for me as I can't work very well out of the Nova.

You know I can't be havin that grease on my ish

:woott:yay haha well hopefully they fix it good enough so it holds till you can afford a good one!

I spoke at length with ATS about wether this go round will do better for me. As my unit is 4 years and 3 months old, they said their clutch production has changed. They insist the newer clutches will hold up well for me. Only time will tell.

If it were my truck getting the engine built I would of had em refresh the trans at the same time so I knew it was all good
