u would think they would just do it for you as your payin them a bunch to get your motor built
That is a conclusion many would come to. Things are a bit more complicated than that. My deal with with them on the motor build was unique to say the least and honestly has nothing to do with the transmission. I purchased the transmission 4 years ago at a time I knew little about diesel performance and from a salesman who no longer works there. I paid their full retail price for it under the promise of a 5 year 500,000 mile warranty attached. I have enjoyed it and it has performed well all these years for Ddriving, moderate towing, and about 12 flawless track passes excluding last night. It's up against more power than before and I'm just assuming its weak. Only thing left to do is see if our transmission purchase agreement will be honored or not.
As for the motor build, I can tell you I'm very happy with what I got. A few bumps along the way but I'm sure most builds do. In the end I feel I was treated very fairly and they did some things over and above what we agreed upon. Three years ago I was given dealer privleges to sell their parts and through the course of time I've made great friends with Clint and a lot of the guys that work there. As you can see the situation is a bit complex and not quite so cut and dry.
