Sorry to hear this news Jason
Guess I know why I haven't seen your stock tune file yet... Really didn't count on you breaking it soo soon, that really sucks!
Yup, shoulda waited til I had your tunes maybe...
I didn't expect it to go so soon, or the way it did, either...
Oh well, pay to play, rolled the dice and, well...here I is
Mark, Larry, Carl-
Thanks for your time in answering all my questions and preparing me a quote, I had contacted/contracted Dustin/adrenaline to do my build and one thing led to another and I didn't hear back or talk to anyone there for a week and I got antsy and wanted to have another plan of action ready and in place for a worst case scenario, being you guys are like another 1800mi away, you were my worst case scenario, and as luck would have it, Dustin got me a core in line to be machined already and it's being prepped
Which is wonderful, as I need as quick as turn around as possible to get my truck back on the road
Id want to see the file he was running when it broke. Idk anything about Duramaxtuner but guys have made a lot more power for a lot longer time than him without issue on lbz's. Shoot there is a local guy running confederate diesel tunes with a modded vgt and I believe 100% overs and its been running strong for about 2 years now. And it gets ran hard too!
I would like to know what the tune file looks like as well, and was hoping to see if Rob would run it on the dyno and see what it made and looked like, even tho the engine is built now, changing a major variable, I'm sure there would be enough info gained to make an accurate assessment of the tune
The thing that's buggin me is, the engine was stil running off of a stock cp3, so maybe on a good day, that cp3 should only deliver 600-625whp....at the most...
and the tuning shouldn't have been too much more powerful, and didn't feel all that more powerful per se, than the old tuning and set up was, it just felt better
until it didnt:spit:
Sorry about your motor!! But sounds like you have a good plan:woott:
Thanks man, it was unexpected but I knew the risks involved I suppose, and as quickly as it happened, this was one of them....
Luckily
kisskiss:thankfully enough for my wife
) we are capable of replacing the engine with a built one, and I believe I've got the best in the northwest for Duramax builds, working on making my dreams a reality:woott:
Here's the short stack of the plan:
Carrillio's
16.0/1 Oval bowls
Billet inj. hold downs, main caps, girdle
New LB7 crank, keyed
SoCal 6480 AF cam, keyed
Welded h2o pump
New oil pump and oil cooler
Port and polish, SoCal springs, chromoly pushrods
ATP Motor mounts
PPE Dual fueler w/HSP wheel
Then have everything Dyno tuned by Rob to maximize the set up
I know a bunch a ya are sayin, you're :screwy: dude....
I'd say, nope, just :broke: most of the time, usually as a result of/due to poor decisions
:rofl::roflmao:
I'm happy to be doing work with Dustin and the guys at ATP, and want to thank him as well for his effort and time, and wish him well with school, he's a busy guy working on more than just trucks:angel:
And I hope you kick that cold buddy
Just try not to forget about me for a week at a time....
