What about the LML pistons/rod setup? cheap for new parts.
Everyone will probably jump my case, but the LML stuff seems to be a viable solution for the 650hp daily driver build. Look at the Fleece setup, or heck look at the abuse that Kory has put his LML through at above 700hp.
It wouldn't be a race setup by any means, but I personally would feel more comfortable taking a risk on the LML setup than going back in with the LBZ/LMM pistons if you are wanting a cheap alternative.
No facts, just an observation. :thumb: If it was already discussed, I'm sorry

X2 other than don't lml pistons have a different size wrist pin?
Lml setup is still risky. If it were me I would throw a set of cut lb7 pistons on the stock lbz rods and call it a day.
Need to pull it apart and see if any others are starting to crack. Don't think you can slap lb7 slugs in because of the weight difference.
Delipped or stock bowl pistons?I beat the shit outta my truck for 3 years and only bent one rod .010-.020" at 650-700 hp and a lot of 1/4 mile passes and sled pulls dd and street races ect I was never nice to it. Pistons have over 250k on them and still look perfect I have pics of them sitting in the old motor still was lmm rods and my lb7 pistons
X2 IMO you will so happy just to be driving it again you won't care to be back to 500hp

Hurry up and do something cool already!! :thumb:
Which side cracked Jason?
Pull the glow plugs, should show you which one. Doesn't matter, there are lots of LBZ slugs around for cheap. Anywho you have a left if you need it.
Drivers side. If the piston is cracked you will have all kinds of oil in that cylinder. You should be able to crank it over and it will slobber out the bad hole.
