U need the fitting for the back of cp3. 1/2". U also need a rubber hose roughly 18-20in long. Also 1/2. Ppe also makes this if u dont wanna make your own. They call it cp3 highflow feed line. 50-55 if i remember. Take the fuel filter housing off, theres 2 rubber hoses to it, u bypass the test port line to cp3. Literally put fittin in cp3, install your new hose to fitting and connect it to the hose that doesn't go to test port, and where the hose from the filter head, and new hose from cp3 splice together, i bought a fuel T from xdp with a 1/8 ntp for fuel gauge hook up.
thats pretty much it to delete the filter head. Super simple. Least was on my lbz

ill be doing this tonight when i change out the turbo and delete the egr

Very nice. Interested to hear some results.

Well, I fired it up today, first time in a month:eek:

The Danville VGT 72 is a sweet turbo, drop in replacement for a stock look and fit.....are you kidding me:woott:

This turbo is the epitome of a vvt4094 on steroids. It's lighter faster and stronger all in one mod. It doesn't have as obnoxious of a whistle as the standard vvt4094, it's there but it actually sounds good, the turbo itself, it sounds beefy, like its ready for anything.

Throttle response is better, idle is smoother, power is moar :woott:

The roads are all snow covered right now, so it's not so easy to get traction to give you guys an acceleration report:baby:

All in all, I'm totally stoked on this VGT 72 charger. I have to give a BIG HUGE THANKS TO MARK AT DANVILLE, really the whole crew is great, but Mark was always willing to take the time to talk and give insight that years of experience has given him, and for that I am very grateful. Thanks for steering me to stay on the VGT72 path, you were right:thumb:
and the new HSP hot pipe, that tube fits awesome, it fits so awesome it is very difficult to get into place, but it fits awesome nonetheless, nice work fellas:)
I really think I didn't think about the acoustical dampening qualities of all the heat wrap I put on, I did everything:eek:
In about a 1" overlay...
The sound in the cab is almost, dare I say, refined...the subtle nuances are there, the sporty sounds still ring thru but are more subdued, and I like it :D

I got a turbo blanket from Levi @ turbo performance, and that sock was spot on man, spot on:hug: :thumb: I really like how straight forward it was to install, the material quality and finish was fantastic and it looks 10 bazillion times better than that damn heat shield from the factory...

I'm really going to the dyno soon, srsly this time:eek:

Probably the first week in March, sometime in March fer sure, it's my birthday in March and that's the only gift I want:angel:

Thanks again to (Gaylon) the member Details Unlimited for the sweet set of injectors, man those things really idle smooth, and with this new turbo, they act and clean up so killer, thanks buddy

Well everyone, wish me luck....now I just hope everything holds together long enough to get the parts for the engine build, time will tell if suppose

I love the fact that under my hood looks "stock like" or all the components are stock interchangeable...
I really like this vgt72:

Looks good buddy, glad you like it!:thumb:

Looking great Jason!

Thanks guys:hug:

I gotta say, I'm quite pleased with not only Mark's charger, the truck as a whole.
Throttle response is so crisp, power is very linear and generous, smoke/soot output is less than before and it idles soo good, better than the day I bought it with 120k. I didn't really drive it after I put the 60's on, maybe 300mi. so now with everything on tying everything together feels real good, better than good, I really feel like "fantastic" is a better description.

I love this truck:cool:

Thanks again to the awesome vendors here on DuramaxDiesels you guys are true artists, the savants amongst the community....
To everyone here who I've gained knowledge and courage from to get this truck to where it's at today
And of course, as always, my wife, for being supportive and understanding...there's hope for her yet, she's actually enjoying the truck as much as me now, she sees and feels the difference and is starting to associate the value of putting it together right and the monetary value it took :D

:happy2:

Bye bye bottom end

I blame you.....:roflmao:

Save the

"I told ya so's"... Cuz the engine Melted a piston last night:eek:

Is that a record? 9 days....:baby:

F

Well, my wife is actually "o.k"
So far...but as soon as it come time to pay the bill...the fit will hit the shan...:shifan:
I'm not so sure it's sunk in yet, but in this month....it's a drop in the bucket and difficult even for me to fully process...everyone's happy (for the most part) and healthy, so really I/we can't and don't complain:thumb:

I'm alive and posting, so the world must still be turning, I don't want to get started on it and nobody wants to hear it, but without last nights catastrophe, it's been a really shitty month.

To top it off, I can't even say the piston gave out last night cuz I was screwin off, i had just merged onto the freeway, there was a constant and steady flow of traffic but it was moving well and I was able to make it clear to the carpool lane and settle off @ 65mph, about 30 seconds later, out of nowhere, I feel a little shake in the seat and it looks like spy hunter in my mirrors, full on smoke screen mode behind the truck....

:eek::eek::eek:
:toilet_claw:
:dontknow:
:help:

No oil in the overflow or water in the oil...Tons of oil in the tailpipe....Towed er home and here I am...

So you can poke fun and beat me up, I expect it, and deserve it

.........
Now what.... should "I" attempt to pull my own engine, or should I take it somewhere....budget build or go for the gusto...try to build it myself.no....no...:spit:

Now I'm wondering who had the betting pool going of how long my engine would last...whoever won should consider donating to my new engine fund:D

Vendors:

Please PM me a quote or contact info, if you'd be interested in taking on building a me a solid foundation to make 850whp with- thanks- Jason

And let the journey continue....

I certainly was hoping for longevity and wouldn't bet against anyone because I don't want the luck myself. Awful to hear but I'm sure once it's done this time you'll love to be able to turn the wick up

Damn I'm good. 60 overs and a big VGT on a stock motor was asking for it lol

At least you have a little while before the wife breathes fire down your throat when she sees the bill. It was great knowing you man :roflmao:
