It's a shame the Wagler aluminum castings had problems at high power levels. I'm running a set (only 790 HP) and they flow great as-cast. But they discontinued them, so I can't use them on the lower power stuff for some easy performance.

I was disappointed in the Edelbrock heads too.

You should slap some L5P heads on there, I bet the LLY FICM (and definitely the upcoming FUCM) can run the L5P injectors...

With the difference in signals, That might require some hardware changes to make that happen. But anything is possible. I would have to Defer that to Jason and Ken though.

As for Edledbrock, Since they sold out to Private Equity, I doubt they will get back to it.

If everything pans out as expected, it should have no problems running any of the solenoid based injectors. And with some tweaking it might even be able to do the piezoelectric ones

The voltage is adjustable to be able to match it to whatever you want from LB7 down to whatever lower level the L5P uses. I suspect 24 volts

But is there any reason why LLY injectors wouldn't fit in an L5P head?

If anyone wants to send me an L5P injector I'll test it on the OEM FICM to see if it works without throwing a fit. I'm guessing it's half the voltage of the LLY so double the current

No idea yet. It’s been years since I last looked into them. I’ll have to do my research again

My biggest thing is I want boost starting to come on around 1500rpm and full in around 1700. That way I can be towing along in 6th and not downshift. Granted she’s probably going to be retired from the big trailer . Be smaller stuff
Could go even like 362 or 363. If I recall from the turbo response testing that was done ages ago, a 364.5 came up very very fast which surprised most of us at the time.

For how you abuse things I think an internally gated S300 would be the ticket in the valley.

L5p injectors are completely different looking than lly. They don’t mount the same. It would be far easier to use L5p injectors on a lly ficm/ecm. The problem is the amount of reworking needed to do it for everything that attaches to them.

It would probably be well worth the effort to do based on the massive amount of flow they have but time is always the enemy.

Well yesterday I didn’t even fuck around trying to have Erin drive the truck home. I’m my dad was out there with his 24ft trailer and jeep on it. Had him load it on the trailer and my mom drove the jeep home.

I tell you what. I’m still astounded by the way the 2020 pulls compared to the 2002. That truck does not care about 115* heat and you just jump in and go. No watching gauges, no picking gears, just go.

Won’t be enough still. I did an aux radiator before I sold it and that made a bigger difference for the same cost as the lbz change.

I’m still amazed at the 24’s ability to haul boats. I had a 34 Seavee twin inboard diesel behind it the other day and it didn’t care a bit that it was back there. My 16 pulling the same boat struggled to get up over passes and not fall off on mph. The L5p just keeps on getting it, I swear it’s that 10 speed trans. I’d like to see what an lml or lbz could do with a 10 speed behind it.

It made a bigger difference???

Yup. As a nice comparison, the Ron Davis radiator alone made a difference over stock as I was heavier and more power than the lbz I was towing with and I was always 5-10* cooler than the lbz (this lbz is tuned, solid fan hub and extremely well taken care of maintenance wise)

When the 10 speed was announced, I wanted to figure out how to put it in my 02 so damn bad. Each gear of the 10 speed is like adding a splitter to the 6 speed. Makes it so much easier to constantly stay in the power band. What people don’t get is that, yes it’s slower in a drag race unloaded but you load these things to the max and race again, bet the 10 speed takes it. Specially on a grade

It's coming back this weekend. I need to get that sent out.

Hell yeah! Thanks Brad

Ok, thanks for the info. I wanted to see if Ron Davis could make an LBZ radiator for me. I have the parts to do the swap and almost enough parts for a second swap.

As for the 10 speed. Will let Ken sort it out for us...:ROFLMAO:

I was told by Ron to contact this guy to get one of his radiators for the 06-10 trucks.

I wasn't aware he sold the Radiators too. I though it was just the AUX kit
