I’ve taken some measurements and compared the two heads. It looks like the heads would bolt up, but would have the two extra bolt holes along the top. Intake manifolds would bolt up, except for two bolts on each side would have to be drilled and tapped into the head. The injector issue is what kept me from trying it so far.

Ha! I’m hoping josh has more time to look at the one they have on the ground. Could always use l5p injectors but they are SMALL lpm wise

The two extra head bolts are no biggy nor is the two hole for the clam shells. Rockers/push rods were my next question or thing to check. Same with glow plugs though I don’t run any so not a big issue

I believe the entire valvetrain is the same as the older generations.

I’m sure it would be easy enough to machine the heads to accept the larger injector body.

a couple years ago i called Socal diesel and they said they could cut lml heads to take lbz injectors. bet the l5p can be cut the same.

Body dia isn’t the issue. I’d just turn my lly injectors in my lathe. It’s the hold down that is completely different. Have to look at one first hand and see if there is any way around that. May not be able to seat the injector into the bottom or it may be too tall when using the older valve covers.

The are super efficient from what I have seen 600rwhp with iirc a 1800-2000us

The injector bores in the l5p head can be machined to fit the lly injectors banks messed with it I think I know he did that with lml heads.

Far as the mounting for the injectors *♂️
