That's a lot of acid in a clumsy setup, I'd have to dip the whole crossmember in..
Definitely store info for later use

The bars might have gotten 200° no sign of discoloration.. rust is a good insulator as well lol. Warm to touch but not burning.

Got brake line fittings, need to dig up some (4) M14-1.5 IFF with 5/16 line to run MC to ABS box. Pretty much committed making my own

Got new lower ball joints installed.. they were supposed to go in my suburban..oops.

Well add this to the list of hurdles.
Got new brake lines for the front ..
Line port on the ABS module nut size M12-1.5 on 1/4 or 6mm nut at wheel M12-1.0 on 1/4 or 6mm
all inverted flare... What's common? Bubble flare🤦🏻‍♂️.

I'm about to simplify shit really quick

Double or inverted flare for sure. Especially for brake lines. Bubble and single flare are not rated for the pressure and vibration of a vehicle. Interestingly a single flare in HVAC is more then capable of the pressure and vibration. But somehow not in automotive. I've only seen bubble flare in low pressure uses

Non of this is bubble flare. Afaik.
Everything coming apart is inverted flare
And the spec sizes make it hard to get new tube nuts.

The 01-06 stuff is 7/16-24 inverted flare at the wheel.

GM did use bubble flare, just not on the trucks. My 2000 Cavi had bubble flare for example, probably just their cheap econo cars got that treatment

Making progress..
Found some quick connect to 1/2 3/8 to -8/-6 respectively as well.. help build fuel lines again

For searchable information
stock U-bolts for stock 4+1 spring pack no lift blocks..and 01-10 axle measure 10.5" legs 2.5" inside the square and 5/8" rod

Well update.. and running list.
Orders Tbar keys bolts and nuts from Hicksville, arrived today,
egr oil cooler block and valley oil supply block from DHD, got here yesterday,

Been digging in a 01-10 dmax parts pile, found some better front calipers(non frozen) set a of front brake pads, 3" turbo down pipe,
Rear brakes were replaced before the wreck with new rotors pads and calipers.
Got parts to put heater core supply on the T-stat housing, 3/8" NPT T with 1 male and 2 female bosses, 3/8 NPT to 5/8" barb. Definitely not DHD kit nice.

Got new upper ball joints installed.. noticed DS doesn't free drop to full droop stop like PS does.. solid 1" left of travel at the hub to drop.

Need to get lower rear front Diff mount bracket welded back on.

Rear shocks are getting reused, front the upper stud mount is too far gone, eventually all 4 will be replaced. With Bilstein 5100s

No clue on wheels and tires yet.. the pics with black wheels are off my 01 2500 Suburban. Those are 305/70/17 on 17*9 and front has custom 6" BS rear are stock 5" BS
Saved few FB marketplace adds with 17" H2 wheels with worn tires.
I have a set of stock 16" PYOs that are chewed up. All my 16" tires are figuratively "Bald" for winter.. all sub 4/32 tread depth

I've hinted before, I have almost all the drivetrain stuff from my 07 LMM. Thinking swapping the the 07 trans that has aftermarket TC, trans-go JR kit, Mike L pump pressure already installed. Downside almost 500k on it and sitting since late '17. With DS dipstick,

Including GT4088R with the bored out GT3788R T3 gated housing,
3" high flow Y bridge and cold pipe I snagged back in '18 from DHD
Couple S300SXE turbos with T4 gated housing 362/68, 364/74, 366/74 that I had on my 8.3 Cummins, need a T4 pedestal for those. None of the air stuff NEEDs swapped out to get the truck moving.. NGL having the engine on the ground makes a turbo swap A LOT easier. 😂 At minimum will break all the bolts loose and puts some anti-seize on them and re-install

IDK if I should go with Energy Suspension's body mounts are S&B's

Still need hood, grill, head lights and front bumper, power steering pressure lines, sway bar end links. Gooseneck hitch, though probably make my own. Called local metal shop, ~210.00 for it to be based off a 6"*0.75 thick plate, or 230.00 for 6.0"*1.0 thick plate

Front and rear most bolts came out of the bed, most likely put bed back on for time being.

Making Christmas a 4 day weekend, hopefully get a lot done

You Mentioned Heater Core... Soooo, I would like to take the time to mention those plastic connections... Dorman has some stainless replacements as well as PPE and a few other diesel shops. Just in case you didn't know and wanted to adress it now while it's apart.

That is all... :ROFLMAO: You may continue...

Yep, though I haven't had any problems with them, yet, outside getting them off originally..

Yup Dorman 800-409HP

Looks like DHD has a pretty good price on them.
Been good thing to add to an order.. shipping kills the price though. Need to spread it out..
07 engine I drilled the fuel rail ports and think CP3 port, and increased supply to 3/8" line..most likely do it to this engine as well.. that'll happen after I get everything else done most likely

That's an interesting topic... some say it's a needed must have item, others say they have never had an issue and it's just a band aid for a week fuel system. All in all, I certainly don't think it would hurt. Especially since the engine is out and it's easy access right now.

The whole "while it's out" is a can of worms I'm tryin hard not to open.😂😂😂
This engine still has black head bolts. That's a good thing but also a bad thing. The updated ones are silver. Every dmax engine I've had with black head bolts I've lifted the heads with a tow tune.

As for fuel upgrades definitely not required, but wouldn't hurt
I do know the OEM filter head is a restriction to flow IMO

Yeah, Im in that can of worms right now my self...

I Figured I would re-seal the motor before I do a swap.... Didn't like all the EGR Build up in the intact track. 1 exhaust port look liked it was possibly blowing oil out of it. so I pulled the heads for a clean up and rebuild... I didn't like the pitting/ corrosion marls I saw in a few cylinder, Decided to look at the bearings... didn't like what I saw there either... This was a running motor It just wasn't hooked to a cooling system to be able to run it long enough and the frame was so bent it was barely able to get it to go straight and on the trailer.

I'll probably throw a fresh rear main on it when I split the engine/trans/tcase to put it back in. Think I got one laying in my stack of parts..

I put ~3000 miles on it between taking delivery and wrecking it.. avg ~16mpg with a basic tow tune, running in to south east WV from Ohio. Which is pretty good out the gate.

for me that's adding timing, rescaling throttle to my liking, removal of TQ management, adjust shift points in the trans to compliment throttle input., smoothed alot of the fuel/timing tables zeroed out a bunch of others.
