2014 Camaro SS LML Build Thread

I highly recommend going over to PCMHacking.net. A lot of smart guys over there that might be able to help. They mostly play with gasoline ECM's, but the concepts and methodologies used are basically the same as you are wanting to do on this diesel ECM.

    LB7 Fuel Filter Issue?

Thanks for the suggestions. I am leaning toward just throwing on a lift pump, but I couldn't keep from trying to understand what is going on. To that end, I cut open the fuel filter that just came off this engine. I also happened to have the fuel filter that was on the engine before I swapped...

    LB7 Fuel Filter Issue?

Been chasing a 1093 low fuel pressure code on my 2004 LB7 w/ 118,000 miles, no lift pump, recently swapped out original injectors for SAC00 and rebuilt fuel filter base with new AC Delco fuel filter. Original symptom was a high pitch whining coming from right side of engine when engine speed...

01-10 Steering - Saginaw gear experts - What are reasonable expectations?

FWIW - I don't believe that the steering box on the Duramax trucks is a Saginaw 800. Lee's website has a decent write up with pictures showing the different versions of Saginaw boxes out there. https://leepowersteering.com/pages/how-to-identify-gearbox#gmt I know that if I look in my 2004...

Following along - James, thank you for recommending Minhworx. Unfortunately, I think that I am need of his services sooner rather than later.

    GM PID's and Torque App

Has anyone used the smart phone Torque App to log their Duramax? I have EFILive and it works great, but sometimes I just want to check something or verify a few PID's while driving down the road. If I get one of the OBD plug in modules and download the Torque app on my phone, can I just use...

    SAC injector whine?

Recently installed new S&S SAC00 injectors in my ~112K mile, 2004 LB7. The stock injectors were still in there and just starting to give off that raw diesel smell (haze) out the tail pipe. I've driven the truck now for a few months, and noticed that it has a weird sound that it didn't used to...

Fleece Performance 2004.5-2007 Duramax PowerFlo In-tank Lift Pump?

Yes, there are lots of other alternatives for lift pumps on a Duramax, but I do like that Fleece keeps it in the tank. This helps keep it out of the salt and corrosion, and also provides a direct method for dumping the excess fuel directly into the tank. I agree with Tom's comment, that this...

Fleece Performance 2004.5-2007 Duramax PowerFlo In-tank Lift Pump?

No, was trying to see if one could purchase just the Dodge factory life pump (assuming this is what Fleece is using to build their kits with). A quick search shows that you can purchase the fuel pump assembly (bucket, pump, factory fuel tank flange, etc...) but not just the individual pump...

Fleece Performance 2004.5-2007 Duramax PowerFlo In-tank Lift Pump?

Anyone know of a good part # for the Dodge lift pumps? I tried a quick search but found the assemblies (bracket, bucket, pump, etc...) and not just the pump.

LB7 - Engine starts then dies - Reusing low pressure fuel hose clamps

As in just put it over the top of the valve and use the plastic cap to trap it?

LB7 - Engine starts then dies - Reusing low pressure fuel hose clamps

How best to bypass it? Are you removing the whole valve and then capping the fitting? Or is there a plug for the ID of the valve? Wonder what the thread size is for this valve, metric I would think.

LB7 - Engine starts then dies - Reusing low pressure fuel hose clamps

Ok, the saga continues .... I had replaced the clamps with hose clamps and that seemed to help for a day or two. Now we are back to it will bleed down overnight. I started looking at the cold start valve (shrader valve next to the alternator) and think I saw a bubble or two. This makes me...

LB7 - Engine starts then dies - Reusing low pressure fuel hose clamps

I was able to remove the hoses without having to take apart the banjo bolts.

LB7 - Engine starts then dies - Reusing low pressure fuel hose clamps

Just finished replacing the original LB7 injectors on my 2004 LB7 with 110,000 miles on it, with S&S SAC 00 injectors. Other than the usual pains of getting to the injectors, everything else seemed to go back together without too many issues. FWIW - I went ahead and pulled all the injector...

    LB7 - Can I delay replacing injectors?

The haze that I saw was with it warmed up. I haven't tried to run injector cleaner, but sounds like I need to find time. I sure don't want it to start washing down the cylinder walls. So far, no fuel in the oil, but it appears that could happen very quickly.

    LB7 - Can I delay replacing injectors?

Probably already know the answer, but timing isn't great right now. 2004 LB7 with ~110,000 one owner miles on it. Stock injectors. Always had 2 cycle to help with lubricity. #7 shows balance rate of 7.9 mm^3 ... the rest are within spec. A few hundred miles ago, I noticed exhaust smell...

01-10 steering box redhead ,PSC ,OEM

Would adding in a power steering cooler help? Or is the factory cooler too small? My truck did not come with a factory cooler, but I am going to add it. Wondering if most guys who have steering issues do not have a cooler at all? Or if the factory cooler is too small, and we all need to put...

How to tell if it is the power steering pump or the steering box?

Not so much chatter, but the steering gets a lot harder the farther that I turn it and there are times I here whining and popping sounds. FWIW - I have been trying to do some diagnostics with it by steering back and forth right after I start it, then doing it again after I have driven ~20...
