If it's not possible could you make an allison stay together with a 3rd gear start, stock ratios, if you had the HP to do it? Stock third is 1.41. Maybe a high stall with a manual lock-up?
When I used to pull often, 3rd and even 4th gear starts were very common, but in low transfer...
What would it take to change gear ratios in a 5 speed Allison? Make 3rd 1.81, 4th 1.20 and 5th .071 that way I could do a 3rd gear start and the allison would only need to shift two times. This would be for a drag truck.
So I got my self an alter fire cam coming and was wondering how the injector harness is being modified, remember this is for a LB7.
According to the new firing order 1-5-6-3-4-2-7-8 vs stock 1-2-7-8-4-5-6-3 it looks like I need to switch (2,5) (7,6) and (8,3), thanks.
I have been trying to get my brakes bled for 3 days and had no idea what was wrong until now. I had my axle out of the truck for a locker and bigger axle shafts, never paid attention to the calipers when I put them back on. My bleeders are on the bottom...
Are bronze valve guides necessary and are there any cons to using bronze?
I have set of bare stock LB7 heads I am getting ready for my build. I don't plan to port just new valves, retainers, keepers, guides, and better springs along with necessary machine work. This will be for a drag truck...
Thanks for the info, I have the same card but wasn't sure which category turbo/nitrous diesel would fall under which is why I called total seal. :thumb:
