    5-6k is normal when doing head gaskets if it's a reputable shop. Especially with machine work. When we do them all rubber lines in valley get replaced. Usually glow plugs are shot. Good time to toss in Thermostats.

    Talk with anyone with a fast diesel. They will all agree that 1/8 is the way to go. 1/4 is a thing of the past. We are going so fast in the 1/8 that when we let off we still coast a low 10. 1/8 takes talent. 1/4 takes money.

    Any of you know of a track that's located in the Kansas, Illinois, Missouri, Oklahoma area that will have testing Next weekend? It's to cold in Nebraska so I'm wanting to travel south so we can see how far I can push the 6 speed before a major change this winter. Needs to have decent prep.

    I said the same thing a long time ago. You wont see some of the fastest duramaxs in the country on the list cause no events run 1/4 anymore. Odss is the new NHDRA. 1/4 has just gotten to dangerous and expensive.

    J for sure. 1053 is junk compared to it. I ran a 1053 for 3 years. J the last years. The J couples so much better and hold up great. Do get the extreme clutch upgrade. I do have a good used one I'd make a good deal on if interested.

    I dont think you understand how balancing a engine works. Your machine shop should have a balancing machine. They will mount your crank, damper, and flexplate. Then add weights to resemble your rods, bearings, pistons. It shows them where to remove or add weight.... soo if yours is that...

    What crank, damper and flexplate did you use? Lbz/lmm are way different from lb7/lly/lml. I would find a new machine shop. Do not suggest taking weight off the damper or flexplate if not needed. Whats your power goal? I would not do a internal balance for anything under 1200hp. Or even use a...

    We finally got into the 5s also. Way way harder to do with a 6 speed. Hoping to swap converters and find a prepped track by the end of the season. Still haven't tried tunes 4 or 5.
