    Chevy1925 (James) Truck/motor build

After doing the gear math for the same speed of 65 mph between 4.30 and 4.56 gearing Seema be roughly 100 rpm difference. Not much of a difference for towing and fuel economy. James, are you running 2000 rpm at 65 on those tires? Just wanted to make sure the gear calculator I used is accurate...

    Who makes them?

    Chevy1925 (James) Truck/motor build

If they made a 4.35 gearing I would get that which would be more suitable for highway and ok for towing but there is no gear available for our trucks. Hence the 4.56 for 37" tires.

    Weird coolant temp issue

Check the harness connection and for broken/chafed wires.

    New Truck

You can use the topper with that box. Don't use the factory topper j hook clamps. Get the c- clamps style because they hold better than the factory j hook style.

    LML Topper shell shopping...

I prefer ARE. The rear gate has the hinges hidden so it looks cleaner. Quality is better and seems to be more sturdier than Leer. The ARE topper seems to blend with the body better IMO.

Tranny range shift inhibited no codes

A multimeter won't tell you if the battery is bad. You need to do a load test on it to tell you if you have a bad battery. You can have one bad battery and one good battery because the good battery is holding charge and trickle charging the bad battery to hold voltage. Go to autozone or any...

What did you use to get the batteries checked out?

Tranny range shift inhibited no codes

Did you check if the batteries are still good? One bad battery can cause issues and make you think it's a dead alternator.

    2017 Duramax

I hope not. That's alot of crap to take off on the sides before the cab. At least I won't be working on them until the day I own one :D

    LMM: Suspension combo ?'s

Plenty of those discussion all over the internet. Ill simplify for you. Get a 6" and turn it down to 4". You can run 20" wheels, you have to look at the wheel load rating, preferably 3500lb or more. And tire load rating, 3500 lb or more to tow safely.

? Tail gate up or down

Tailgate up. I drive 40 miles one way for work and tried 3 different methods, tailgate up, down, and off. Tailgate down I lost .5 to 1 mpg, off about .5. I did this to double check mythbusters's testings and they're right on this one. Didn't believe it at first until I tried it

    Pad and rotor kits

I'm running the Ac Delco slotted rotors and EBC yellow pads. The rotors are definitely a quality item, had my caliper sticking and overheating the rear axle & brakes upnin heavy smoke. Rotors were still straight and reuseable as well the pads too. Still stops like a car.

    Problem with acceleration

Could be the torque limiter in the tune. Does it run fine after it passes 2500rpm at any gears?

    2.8L Canyon Test Toy

I'm sure it'll tow it just fine. Your half ton practically weighs as much as a car.

SS brake hose for lifted trucks

I've had a good life out of pretty much everything except for the front end which I replaced it with the kryptonite at, 64k. Now it has 164k, the only front end item I've replaced after that was the gear box and pitman/idler arm setup. I've upgraded those Moog to the HD version, so far so good...

SS brake hose for lifted trucks

Thanks for the link Mike. The reason my caliper was sticking was due to the excessive heavy braking during traffic from the idiots trying to and cut me off. Also I think my left rear caliper was starting to seize up from the corrosive salt from the previous winter, it didn't get washed much. It...

SS brake hose for lifted trucks

I went ahead and got the Russel 695770. Needed it asap, it's my only DD. I couldn't keep driving it with a sticking caliper. After replacing the lines and caliper, my hydroboost definitely needs to be replaced. I'll replace that along with the updated power steering pump and probably add in the...
