    Keep in mind that there are independent dealers (GM specialty garages for one) that will do programming for you, most often at a much cheaper charge.

    Truck lost communication with TCM.

    Since you have another 20008 TCM, you could plug it in and see if you have communications or not. If you do, you have some info about your existing TCM. If not, it was worth a try. I think you need to get the replacement married to your truck after you see if it works/communicates.

    Low temps decrease the ability of the battery to crank the engine, and the engine becomes much more difficult to turn over. Jason is correct, load test both batteries or put them on a charger to bring the charge up to full full.

    There were years when GM did not produce a new electrical manual because the wiring diagram didn't change. This is one of those situations.

    If the power is present at the front-end fuse but no power at the rear end, my first guess is that the wires have been broken or cut. I am assuming that someone has checked a wiring diagram, identified the ground for that side, and made sure the ground has good contact.
