    LB7: 4L80E With LB7

As others have said, stand alone ECM and either a stand alone TCM (lots of options out there) or manual valve body (also lots of options). 4l80e in my experience is a pretty stout piece but behind a built Dmax you'll have to put shafts, clutches and converter IMO. Even a light combo it will...

    Gone September 4th-14th (Drag Week)

Thanks everyone. Been wanting to do this for half a decade. Can't say I've ever felt this much anxiety for a trip. You bet Matt. Trying to make sure I'm not leaving too many people hanging. Never took this much time away in one shot. If I can get it to 60' like it should, bottom...

    Gone September 4th-14th (Drag Week)

Just a heads up to anyone needing to contact me. I'll be gone tomorrow the 4th through Sunday the 14th for Drag Week. I'll have my phone and will be trying to answer as many calls/e-mails as possible but my street rod is too loud to talk on the phone so contacting me will be spotty. If I...

Help: Buying a fire damaged engine?

As long as it wasn't running while it was in flames I really wouldn't be scared of much at that price.

Any idea what could of been here?

Hydrogen seems like another one of those things that the people that have them seem to like them and think they are an improvement. Everyone else who doesn't have it says it's snake oil and don't work. Haven't met anyone yet who had it and didn't believe in it.

Any idea what could of been here?

Hydrogen setup? With the elbow in the intake tube and the odd hole in the core support cover, that's my guess. They were somewhat popular around here for awhile. Depending on the installation, they tend to hack through covers and such to route lines, etc. I've seen similar stuff locally.

Who is going to Billings Mt Nhrda this weekend?

Hopefully that doesn't hurt overall turnout too badly with NHRDA already having a rain date in place on Sunday.

Help: Buying a fire damaged engine?

FWIW I've bought engines that were in various degrees of fires and the long blocks were usable every time (I think half dozen engines). An extremely overheated engine tends to be in worse shape internally in my experience, than one that had an external fire. The negative being the unusable top...

Oil pressure seems low at idle

If it makes you feel any better. The LLY in my street rod idles at 10-12 on a hot day. Goes to 25+ at just above 1000rpm so I haven't been too worried.

Do these cylinders look "normal" to you?

For the record, every single diesel you'll ever tear down with an active EGR is going to have a decent amount of carbon/gunk buildup in the y-bridge/intake manifolds. Not worth panicking over in my opinion. I may have missed it but why are you having the heads surfaced? If you're actually...

    Another Great Turbo Blanket Install

Looks good. Glad they fit well Dustin. Always a small doubt about fitment when there is a WG port in the side of the hotpipe. Good to hear things went off without a hitch. Thanks again!

    Waterjet cut Oil Pan flange?

Mat @ S&T water jet/steel sent my valve covers for my project and said they had all flanges, templates already mapped for Duramax/Cummins. Good guys to deal with if you can't get them from anyone already mentioned.

    True Twin Hx35's???

I've been running basically the same setup. It won't work with hx35's. Hx35 exhaust housings are too loose to spool as a parallel set on a Dmax. At least on a stockish fuel system. Tightest housing you can get is 12cm IIRC. Unless you go to a tuner car style, BEP 9cm housing. Which makes it...

    Duramax Street Rod

Thanks! Finishing the week is the goal. Anything above that is cream. For now, it's just making some clean passes somewhere close to where the math says it should be.

    Duramax Street Rod

Neither for now. Really hate to put the bottle in it unless I have to. Spools/runs fine around town which DA gets upward of 7300ft. Don't have room for an intercooler but the front end may get a redesign this fall to allow for one. Relatively low boost (25 psi) so I don't think intake temps...

    Duramax Street Rod

It's been solid so far. No real issues to speak of. Drove it Denver for the NHRDA race but was having tuning/turbo spooling issues so I never got anywhere close to a clean pass. 8500 DA was hell on this setup which I didn't expect. It did go there and back without issue and got 30+MPG which...

    Hey Levi

Never made one but it shouldn't be an issue. Could probably just use a stack cover for the velocity stack too unless you want to attach it differently.
