    Duramax C10

I can appreciate that. I ran a bone stock 4l80e last year at 400/800, 3500 lbs with zero issues. Even a stock converter. Lol. Changing setups to up the power this year so we'll see how well it lives. Everything I've read and everyone I've talked to seems to think a good input shaft and valve...

    Duramax C10

I agree on not using a 400 in a street ride since it doesn't have an OD but there's no way I would put an Allison in a relatively light setup. Sure, they work great in most cases for a 3/4 ton truck but i wouldn't consider it a racing trans in really any other platform. Especially when you could...

    57 Chevy Duramax

Alldatadiy.com was a huge help when wiring up my stand alone setup. Just buy a subscription for the right year of duramax van and it should give you all the wiring diagrams and schematics to do what you need. Just a matter of sifting through the info.

    Info: 4l80e behind a Duramax

Thanks. I'll post up some of the wiring info on the solenoids and manual operation tomorrow when I get back in the shop. Real simple stuff. Think I have it for both the 4l80 and 4l85 if memory serves since I was actively looking for an 85 until I stumbled onto cheap 4l80's and my wallet made...

    Info: 4l80e behind a Duramax

Not sure how much it'll help but here's a picture of the 3 micro switches I put in my shifter housing. The shift solenoids ground through the micro switches so when the shifter mechanism hits the micro switch, it grounds the correct solenoid for the desired gear. It works just fine and I didn't...

    Info: 4l80e behind a Duramax

I'd bet I'm lighter than you'll be by a good bit. I'm around 3500lbs fwiw. I was only making 400ish hp with my turbine housings being too big but the trans I'm running is bone stock. Didn't do anymore than change the fluid and stuff it in. Even stock converter. Wanted to find the breaking point...

    Info: 4l80e behind a Duramax

You don't have to change flywheel from stock Dmax and a normal 4L80 converter will bolt up.

    Ken Block - Gymkhana 7

The car might have miles of power and be crazy capable but I think it's flat ugly. Gymkhana 7 was pretty sweet, it just doesn't look as impressive cause you've seen similar stuff done 6 times before.

Victor Reinz vs OEM LML head gaskets

As far as I've seen it's a preference. I'm pretty certain Mark @ Danville has run the LML gaskets in big power builds with no real issue. Shane Phinney also posted running the Victor head gaskets under his triple turbo setup without any problems. I'd personally go off which one you like...

    Disabling adaptive shift learning

Thanks! :thumb: I appreciate the response, I actually don't have a dog in this fight as I don't run an Allison. Was more curious than anything and hadn't considered clutch wear and tie ups being the ultimate destination.

    Disabling adaptive shift learning

How philosophical. Now that we know you disapprove of amateur brain surgery, care to actually enlighten us as to why turning off adaptive learn is a bad thing? Couldn't you theoretically get it to shift the way you want and turn off adaptive?

Sold the Lincoln, Now it's an IH Metro Project

 I like both ideas. Honestly not sure what direction I'll go with it. Need to see how much help the body needs. I know I'm a lot happier with how different it is. That was the problem I ended up having with the Lincoln, there's a ton of very cool Lincoln Continentals already out there...

Sold the Lincoln, Now it's an IH Metro Project

Well things definitely changed. I kinda fell out of love with the Lincoln, sold it and the guy picked it up yesterday.:o But as one project leaves, another project takes it's place. Gained enough extra cash to buy a 1965 International Metro. Going to pick it up this week. Plan is to de-body a...

    Sock for ss v-band 1.30ar

I haven't done a blanket for that housing that I'm aware of. The HTT blanket is pretty standard. I've added a link below to the picture of the measurement I would need off the bullseye turbo to build a blanket. I'd also need length/diameter of the hotpipe to be able to size/quote you a...

Brodix cylinder heads for the Duramax

Actually, no. I didn't elude to anything, I flat out called you Wade. Which I did because you talk like him, grammar, spelling, etc. Also the fact that you're/he's known for having multiple online personalities to support yourself/himself. These are the reasons I refer to you as Wade. If...

Brodix cylinder heads for the Duramax

No I don't have it out for you "Wade". The few transactions we've had have been somewhat pleasant but your internet ego and persona extend beyond a username. Just figured I'd call a spade a spade. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Brodix cylinder heads for the Duramax

For the record, I was being genuinely curious. I hadn't heard about the cracking issue until Wade's alter ego brought it up. To be honest, I did get a couple e-mails and phone calls yesterday explaining the issue so it's not him just spracking off like I expected.

    LB7: 4L80E With LB7

Purely a preference choice. I run mine manually and it doesn't bother me but you'll hear others complain about constantly having to shift. Upside is there is no harness or controller to potentially fail.
