    NP246/266 custom build

It depends on the model year, prior to 02 I couldn't tell you much - I could speculate. 03-07 varies the clutch rate on slip (15 rpm), throttle, speed (25mph+ the clutches engages more to bias more power forward) and ABS activation. The system relies on a baseline of what the clutch pack is...

    Rare parts extreme duty pitman

Cognito centerlink and tie rods, ultimate idler and rare parts pitman arm here. No issues after 5-6k miles of AWD use.

    NP246/266 custom build

Only cut enough to add 1 more clutch and 1 steel, anymore and the last clutch will ride up on the hub and the encoder will crush it like mine. As of now a little over 4k miles on mine, it did eat another encoder motor in the rain again. I believe it was the aftermarket encoder set-ups(the...

    Front end upgrades

I run a cognito center-link and tie rods(cheaper than dmax store's set-up, iirc under $700 shipped), ultimate ilder arm and rare parts pitman arm and have a custom auto4wd system that gets used regularly on mine as a hot street truck- 4k miles on this setup and I'm not easy on it and I have...

Putting LML in 07.5 2500 HD

We're saying it is really no different from putting a LBZ in a 03+lb7 and LLY. 03-07 Engines will swap and 07.5-14 engines will swap with ease.

Putting LML in 07.5 2500 HD

Am I missing something or doesn't the LML ECM speak the same language for GM LAN as the LMM? The worst case is you'll have the reprogram the BCM, ECM and Passlock 2 module and "marry" them together - shouldn't be an issue outside of if you mess up the wiring.

    New Truck Order Process

I was under the impression ordering was shut down in May for 2016s?

    NP246/266 custom build

Thanks Ben! It's been some work, that's for sure! However, I just grin when it kicks in and sucks down on the curves! I'm thinking finish my intellibeam next, install this G6 panoramic sunroof (buying the entire roof off a G6, then going to create a support that incorporates the A,B and C...

    NP246/266 custom build

The measurements are custom to each individual clutch assembly. I measured the clutch stack with the Kent Moore J-44295 (clutch shimming tool), then used various gauges and spacers to determine what amount to machine from the apply plate. The spec is 2.16mm +-0.10mm of clearance on 03+ np246...

    NP246/266 custom build

Also clutches measure new and steels looked perfect with 1k miles of ABUSIVE driving in auto. I'm unfortunately driving like a 16 year old again when no one is around  Probably launched it 20+times from 10-20lbs in auto :roflmao: The Cognito centerlink is awesome too for those on the...

    NP246/266 custom build

Update: I ended up having to pull the transfer case! I noticed the fluid was running a bit low. Well, I checked it every 100 miles, so I knew there was no external leaks - Turned out to be the input gear leaking fluid into the transmission :spit: Luckily, I didn't put autotrac fluid in it; this...

    2016 2500HD DMAX Steering woes-

Hmm, not to argue; as I'm sure you know the system better than I. However, isn't it one of the Nexsteer torque overlay systems and allows parking assist and lane keep assist? At least their literature claims that it is or am I reading that wrong...

    2016 2500HD DMAX Steering woes-

I wish they went into depth on the operation of the steering assist system. There's a few papers talking about the capabilities of those systems, such as: The ability to tie in with the vehicle stability program and assist the driver in recovering in a VSES event; then actually turn the wheels...

    NP246/266 custom build

Ehh, I had no idea where I was going to get one, lol! Likely Alibaba though, I plan to google about that tonight. Any recommendations?

    NP246/266 custom build

Yep, it monitors for a 15 RPM (I believe it is 15 RPM) difference between the front and rear prop shaft, and it also monitors throttle and speed inputs; Above 25mph, the TCCM will automatically bias more torque to the front. Now, at what % throttle does more biasing start, I don't know - one of...

    NP246/266 custom build

I tried to upload more photos, but it is saying I'm missing a security token?? So far everything is working flawlessly, minus one issue! I ended up frying an encoder motor; however, I have my suspicions it was bad from the get go - it acted as if it was always slow to bias torque to the front...

    NP246/266 custom build

Yup, all new wiring harnesses that I made from parts I purchased off mouser. Then the TCCM programming and the switch from a silverado/tahoe. Hard to say in real world, for now. I have pages of papers where I did numbers on various parts and gave them gracious stress factors - In time we'll...

    NP246/266 custom build

Got everything going, I like it; it does appear it needs a slight bit of friction modifier, as it's a bit grabby during low torque traction loss (gravel). Now, launching it from 2-2.3k rpm, it took of like a gtr, lol! Ass end slides out ever so slightly and then just rips! I does NEED a cooler...

    NP246/266 custom build

I should find out today or tomorrow, just waiting on the UPS man to bring me my new centerlink :D I didn't want to go fuel throttle and break traction and have this thing engage the clutches and kill my steering lol. So I got a cognito system - similar to dmax stores and rare part pitman arm...
