Not the freeze plugs but I blew out a few of the galley plugs out on this motor. I tried loctite and they seeped, used no1 sealer and no problems since
I have two precision turbos a 71 and a 94, both ball bearing and billet wheels. My truck has made 1016hp and egts didn't go over 1500*. Spools fast even at my elevation and I could tow if I needed to. A smaller setup can make big power too but egts get pretty hot.
Water pumps can whine for sure.
I have a similar very faint whine on mine also on drivers side, it is all the same parts though, cp3, water pump, power steering, etc
Also compression ratio, elevation, temp, turbos, etc also play a big role in all of this. I know this even moving from 4300' to 5800'. Made things even more difficult to be "clean"
I had 100% overs and never had idle smoke even here at 5600'elevation. I had a really tough time with part throttle smoke and now I'm down to approx 35% nozzles from ddp and I guarantee the will make at least 900 hp here so that's all I really need. No raw fuel smell, low smoke at idle and part...
Thanks, I didn't install my ported heads this time, and as I was hoping they were the reason I was having smoke issues. I had assumed they had increased port volume too much and had taken away too much velocity. This motor is soo much more drivable.
