    Cracked Oil Pan??

I cleaned off the upper oil pan for putting the drain in for my triples and noticed this. There was a lot of gunk (oil and sand) on top of the pan and I just figured it was from 150k miles and a leaky oil drain on my HTT. Is this a crack in the upper pan? I have never seen one out of the...

Are LBZ rods "proven" to hold up in mild engine builds?

Talk to Guy at SoCal. He had some great pricing on the Carrillos earlier this year. I have mine in a box in the shop :D. The motor comes out this winter.

    transfer case leaking

Rear seal? You might also look for pin holes in the rear case half caused by pump rub.

    Transmitter calibration

Thanx, but I was thinking I have an old dead computer with a good power supply. This is just for the bench calibration.

    Transmitter calibration

Can I use a 5VDC power supply out of an old computer as the power supply for calibrating pressure transmitters? I would think that any 5VDC source would work. I am going to be replacing my stock boost transmitter with one of the Honeywell units.

    denali drivetrain in a dmax?

There is a similar system in the trailblazers (the "auto" 4wd). I just got done reworking the t-case clutches in my wife's TB. We NEVER used the auto feature, I told her if it was bad enough for auto, put it in 4hi. We did pretty good, but the clutches still went out after about 140k miles...

    Co Pilot anyboby?

You need to be careful mixing and matching components from different trans places. I do not know about the GMax6, but with my GMax5 you either don't drill the back plate, and run a copilot, or drill the back plate and don't run a copilot. I'd save the $$ on the copilot and find a builder to...

    limp mode??

You will need something to read the codes. Most here use EFILive or a Tech 2. You can also get a stealer to read your codes, for me it would cost $100 for 5 minutes for the technician.

    limp mode??

This sort of sounds like when I lost the FPR on my first CP3. If I snuck up on the throttle, I could get the engine to carry some rpm, but if I stabbed it, the truck fell on its nose. BTW, there were codes thrown, but I don't recall if I saw anything come up on the MIL.

    Question: egts

Yep...pyrometer lots of folks make them, I would recommend getting something that goes HIGH (2000*). It is no fun to run off the end of scale. Accurate is relative...think more like close. I have 2 probes, one on each side, they read about 150*-200* different. I think the left probe is not...

    new to Duramax

The best I have ever mileage I have ever had was just over 19 with my HTT and a tune that should be near 500 HP. That was in 2WD, on highway, mixed flats and hills. Every time I have put on a power adder I have had better mileage as long as I don't get on it hard....:roflmao: OOPS, I forgot...

    "High" mileage reliability

I bought my LB7 new in '03 with 3 miles on the odometer; I am at 155k now. I started rodding the truck at 100k miles, so some of the work needed reflects that. Here is what was done under warranty: 18K hydrolock because of injectors-all 8 replaced a few heater motors were replaced a couple of...

which lift pump is right for me?

A bargain pump is the PPE; they flow 160 GPH. It does not have filters. Mine has been working fine for 2 years, even in the cold winters.
