Are LBZ rods "proven" to hold up in mild engine builds?

Ok now the question, what rods would yall suggest to use in a 700-800hp build? And i can use coated lb7 pistons at that power level correct?

Any of them would be better than stock. Except the ones that Ben and a couple others used!

Personally I think if you keep stock injectors and cp3 and never spray your truck and have no intentions of ever going with dual CP3 and bigger injectors I think you would be fine with the LBZ rods.

i would be comfortable running a hot street truck with twins and dual cp3 and injectors up to 800 hp with lbz rods, jmo. it would be a fun truck, nothing too crazy, and on the street you don't ever need more than that....hell, when do you really need 800 on the street?

IMO if your going to do the motor then get a good rod Carillo, howard x beams, crower i think that they all will work just fine. Also i think that if you could keep it under 700 hp then lbz rods would be fine but HP is worse than crack you just want more.

I`m running a 2006 LBZ right now, raced in super diesel at the NHRDA world finals this year, motor is a stock 150 000km bottom end, hand ported heads from Curtis Halverson (Extreme Engine Development) Full all season high flow egr delete system, stock turbo, stock injectors, built trans by me, FASS pump ect ect.... I sprayed the death out of it at the world finals, ran 12.06 @114mph and weighed 7234lbs. On the horse power calculators my truck is making somewhere between 650 to 670 rwhp on nitrous, I drive it every day, some days harder than others but it still runs smooth and has no current driveability issues. I did the nitrous tune my self and run a dual cp3 set up. This has my mind going now, might go fill the bottles and dyno it tomorrow now.:D

^^^ 06 LBZ is the best! But the stock turbo is limiting you big time. My truck has 145,000 on it. Compression tests out perfect as do the injectors.

How much spray are you running?

Talk to Guy at SoCal. He had some great pricing on the Carrillos earlier this year. I have mine in a box in the shop :D. The motor comes out this winter.

I`m well aware of the stock turbo limits, I wanted to prove to myself that i could build a some what stock set up and still run with the more modified trucks. I use to see 35psi of boost and when I put the ported heads on I dropped to 26psi ( boost is just a restriction IMO)

It was a .125" jet, single stage. On a WOT switch. If it doesnt snow this week I`m going to try and get it into the 11`s.

I am thinking the same, "mild build" but I am going to use a good set of rods, not sure which yet, and Im goning to use cut and coated LB7 pistons, I don't wanna chance it with LBZ/LMM rods

Care to elaborate?

he means that the measure of Boost is based on how restrictive the intake path is. the less restrictive it is, the amount of boost you see on a gauge is less, since the air is moving more freely to its destination. also, in most cases, as volume increases with flow being constant, pressure decreases

Don't do it Sean.
I had the same thought in my head for about 24 hours, then I snapped back into reality and realized 700rwhp is nowhere near enough. :D
