Jakes called me back. Gonna order their stage 4 kit i believe. Also looking at this converter. https://puredieselpower.com/chevy-gm-products/89-00-gm-6.2-6.5l-diesel-4l80e-trans-bd-torqforce-performance-torque-converter.html#/product/5414. Does anyone know if it will bolt to a duramax flexplate?
I put a ridgerunner diesel tune on the 2008 duramax shop van and the trans was smoked after the first test drive. [emoji23] We were planning on building it and i was wondering if anyone here had a good suggestion for a rebuild kit and hard parts that will hold 1000+ ft lbs of torque
Bumping an older thread but what did you have to do to the trans to get it to last? I know it took a couple attempts and was curious what ended up lasting? The trans lasted 2 test drives on the tuned and deleted shop van
Its probably half a dozen 1 way and 6 the other really and come down to personal preference. I pulled the cab on the last LLY i did and i would say there is no way you could pull the cab in less than 3 hours.
Pull the motor. The cabs are kind of a pain to pull with how the wiring is set up. Not too bad but not as easy as a 6.0. A friend of mine can have a lb7 out in 1.5 hrs and i dont think theres any way you could pull a cab that fast.
So the question remains, why do some stock trucks break them at 150k, some stocks trucks last 400k+, some guys make 800+hp for years and never break one and the next guy does a build and breaks a crank in 6 months?
I wonder if those guys were running a big single or twins? I still aint scared and unless something happens to change my mind I'm putting lml rods in mine.
When mine goes its getting lml rods. I wasnt sure about it at first but a truck confederate diesel built dynoed 940 hp on them at keystone nationals a few weeks ago and has been making good power for quite awhile on them.
Im at 198,000 miles. Been tuned for the last 60k at least. S366, 30% nozzles, built trans and supporting mods. So far so good, about to do a modded cp3 and we'll see what happens.
I think I'm going to go with a new lbz pump and regulator. Does anyone know if you can still buy the Arson kits to mod them yourself for more top end fuel?
My stock 197,000 mile pump is getting weak. What would y'all recommend that is reasonably priced but will keep up on a big tune? The plan was a LBZ pump and regulator but if its not going to keep up I'd rather do it right the first time!
