I appreciate you clearing up the confusion Guy. Thanks for the good info.

Valve springs: Comp Cams vs. SoCal Diesel

They won't because they don't want people doing what we are trying to do right now. They should because I'm a paying customer that wants a part number.

    1992 Dodge D250 Duramax

Ok so I'm dead set on running the 80 as a single but need help deciding on what stall converter to use. Remember, I'm running a 47rh 4 speed dodge tranny and I'll be using a manual valve body in it. What do you guys think? 2800-3000 stall?

Valve springs: Comp Cams vs. SoCal Diesel

So how can one go about positively identifying the SoCal springs as Comp Cams springs? I'd like to save some money but don't want to screw myself with buying too light of a spring or one that won't work with Comp's seats and retainers.

Valve springs: Comp Cams vs. SoCal Diesel

Hmm, makes me wish they would just put up the specs and part numbers. It seems like a lot of diesel companies don't put many details up.

Valve springs: Comp Cams vs. SoCal Diesel

Is it lighter to the point where it's not heavy enough?

Valve springs: Comp Cams vs. SoCal Diesel

Will do sir. I want this thing to come to life too. I hate waiting...haha.

Valve springs: Comp Cams vs. SoCal Diesel

That's what I was thinking. SoCal sells the springs cheap and jacks up the seat and retainer prices since they're required to run the spring. Comp Cams sells the springs for more while the seats and retainers are much less. Take the cheapest of them both and save yourself some money right?:thumb:

Valve springs: Comp Cams vs. SoCal Diesel

SoCal doesn't give a part number though.

Valve springs: Comp Cams vs. SoCal Diesel

Hamilton springs = $575. SoCal springs = $384 Comp Cams seats = $70.94 Comp Cams retainers = 107.96 TOTAL = $562.90 After shipping (if I even have to pay it) I'll come out about even and I'll have new springs, retainers, and seats. Please tell me if I went wrong anywhere here.

Valve springs: Comp Cams vs. SoCal Diesel

So I've heard rumors that SoCal Diesel just uses Comp Cams springs with their name on them. Is this true? If so I can save a lot of money by buying the springs from one company and the seats and retainers from another. Thanks for the help. Jared

LB7 Guys:PLEASE TAKE ME TO SCHOOL!

I see. That makes sense. It looks like I'll just send them to extrude hone and get them opened up then. Does anyone have the contact info for them?

LB7 Guys:PLEASE TAKE ME TO SCHOOL!

Yeah these are nozzles only. I'd like to save money if I can but don't want to destroy something or hurt performance a lot. Right now I'm thinking about extrude honing them to 40-50% over and running the 80 with the diverter valve. Then I'll tune the bottom end torque out of it and use balance...

LB7 Guys:PLEASE TAKE ME TO SCHOOL!

I have a lot of unanswered questions regarding the performance of my federal LB7 I plan to swap into my dodge truck. All advice is appreciated guys. 1. I want a set of 40% over nozzles or somewhere around there but don't know where to go. Option 1 is to send my nozzles to Extrude Hone and for...

    Is private messaging working?

I found that you can't use the "quick reply". Click on "go advanced" next to the "send message" button and then type your reply and send it. This is the only way it will work for me.:thumb:

    1992 Dodge D250 Duramax

What stall converter should I use with the 66? A 2200 stall or somewhere around there?

    1992 Dodge D250 Duramax

I do have a billet, gated s366 I could run as a smaller single. I'm afraid that'll stress the rods even more though? I guess it really depends on tuning, right?
