We had a risk assessment meeting today on a project I'm doing. It was deemed too dangerous back to the drawing board.... It like beating your head against the wall knowing you're using best work practices but that's not Goodnuf for companies that believe perfection is possible.

Oh hell man, speaking to the choir here. This shit happens to me on a daily basis. Even the littlest jobs though it's annoying as hell.

Repaired a 60 disk folding cutaway hare with some M3 bolts and aluminum. This was mine when I was a kid and we let our son have it. He's 4 and stepped on it and broke it and wanted to throw it away. He'll get it back when he's around 7 or 8 and can respect it. I already fixed the tongue and let him have it back after he broke it.

*sigh* vacation's over :( Back to the salt mines on Monday. Meh.

Had to stop into work today anyway to drop off Switch's box of brake lines, so I stopped by the boss's office to get my paycheck and shoot the bull. Nobody got fired this week, and I didnt miss any policy changes. B-o-r-i-n-g

It's not to bad just a lot of holes and they are all countersunk but the material is thin so I have to dimple them all than have to worry about lining up the four bolt holes for the tail boom.

Some SST iron? Is that an IDE built rig?

You mean like an ideco? Not sure to be honest..its a box on box with a pony, 1600hp with a heavy ass topdrive. The A legs on this pig are 145k and crown was 109k. Moves pretty quick tho. Its a walking rig, think it was built in 2014

SST owns it don't they?

Looks like a IDE drill cabin but I can't really tell.

That's a little stouter than my rig, my a legs weigh 25,000.

Whole derrick weighs 107k.

They're bringing Rig 103 over from North Dakota and it's a 1600 hp rig, it's a little too big for this area but I'm still exited to see it.

Drilling some holes in a 15" X 15" piece of 6061-T6 tool & jig aluminum. If I had to guess without counting them I'd say it's 772 holes.
