Had to deal with OSHA...

Gravity took over on one of our cranes.
Shit gets crazy when the object fails. We had 1 of those precast concrete wall sections do it...nowhere near the weight but holy f does your butthole pucker up. Hope everyone comes out ok Brian. Crane and rigging pass inspection after?
No pics. One guy hurt pretty good but will recover. Lifting a 150 foot 90k lb bridge girder into place and the concrete failed mid lift. Broke right in half.

Caught a design mistake by accident today, would have been embarrassing trying to get a 4.192 rotor through a 4.186 stator :roflmao:

Took these tires off these wheels on a Farmall Cub I am restoring. This tube has a date of 1985 on it. Got to get the milling machine running again before the boss finds out I been working on tractor stuff.

It happens all the time. Then the engineers want to get smart with you and act like they didn't screw up. I just start referencing print numbers and dimensions.

"Oh yeah, that won't fit":roflmao:

When ya gotta build your own design prototype before production touches the design, you learn to own your mistakes

This mistake will hopefully be easy to fix but bean counters will be angry with it.

Yeah for sure. When I own my mistakes it's usually, "uh oops:eek:"

I usually walk in my bosses office and say "I'm sorry, I wasn't paying attention, I can try and weld it up and make it look like it never happened but we may need more material" :D

I work around cranes alot, and the iron we pick failing is one of my biggest fears...no real way of knowing its integrity....glad your guy will recover!:thumb:

The guy that works out in the shop with me got 4 broken bolts out of this turbo housing. That vice is 6" wide.

Was at the local power company here in PHX yesterday, APS, lifting some power generators on top of a building with our 275 ton Grove with full boom and jib. 265' reach at 2000lbs.

Probably less than 5k...they look like fishing poles that far out. Wonder how the housing market is in that area. I could handle working on cranes down there
