Hey Tommy get the piston out of the hole and then get a pic and see what it looks like down below more, By the looks of it looks like it should hone out.

Being the piston did not split I would bet it would hone out.

When the piston splits the steel ring insert tears up the cylinder wall.

Ok well i might be going another direction found a real good deal well mike mmlmm did :hug: on a lbz with only 12k miles complete drop in so i think i will go tht route for now and build the other motr over time

We finnaly got everything off the block today. Tommy didn't have his camera, so I'll try to post some pics.

yep we got it all down 100% today to bare block. all i can say is im surpised by the way the piston looked worse then i thought would look . and there looks to be alot of wear on the crank bearings and one looks as if it where about to fail had a big gouge in it. ill pst some pics sooon

Well its on the way to the machine shop should take about a week and be ready to start outting together so hoping by mon we may be ready to put this beast back totgether. The short list

So cal cut coated 40 over pistons :eek: so cal cam head studs crower rods main studs hp bearings and all the other goodies tht goes along with it . Thanks to guy for all of his help so far :hug: and of course to jason.
