Well my one bitch about chucks is the surface area is small compared to a dedicated lifter or something like a skate shoe. Not sure a skate should would be a good choice

I have Reebok Nano 5s. They are a "Crossfit" shoe but may be something that would work for you? Not a dedicated lifting shoe, but versatile for all types of training.

These are nice and wide and stable. Probably not perfect by any means but gotta be better than those tissue paper nikes I was wearing. They don't have an elevated heal like alot of the lifting shoes I've seen but at the same time alot of people lift barefoot and I can't see these being much different than that lol

Haven't convinced myself if I should get some better dedicated shoes. Torn between the Nike Romelos and the Converse Chuck Taylors. Not sure these Nike shox are right for heavy to me squats and deads.

Yesterday did bench/triceps/biceps.
Bench. 45x25, 95x10, 135x10, 165x7x3s, 150x8x2s, 135x10, 135x7.
Incline 1 arm DB Bench hold the other one at full extension to work on stability. 25sx10, 40sx10, 50sx6, 50sx7, 35sx10.
Decline DB flys...lot harder than anticipated lol. 15sx10x2s.
Rope push down/alt bicep dB curl superset. 5 sets, went heavy for 6 reps and then dropped weight each set and went to failure each time on each exercise. Smoked!

Today. Back.
Hybrid tbar row since we don't have one.
90x100rx10s.
WG Lat PD. 105x10x3s, 90x10 really squeeze the bottom.
Underhand cable row. 90x10x2s
Vbar pulldown. 105x10x3s.
High cable rows. 90x10x2s, 135x10.
Deads. 135x5, 135x10, 135x5, 135x10, 155x10. Felt great and zero back pain so must have been correct for right?

The Romaleos are worth every penny. I dont think the Chucks will offer the same support in the heel/ankle. The straps really help too. I talked to Candito the other day and he recommended Sabo DL shoes.

Good to hear you figured out your issue but why so much volume on bench? Thats a lot of stress on the shoulder.

It doesn't really bother the shoulders with that much bench. What did was my tweaked form on the bench. Watch videos of me and bodybuilders and power lifters it made some small tweaks and it helped a ton. I'll look at those Sabo DL

Its crazy what a 1/2" will do on the grip. I never know where to put my feet. Lol

I get my hands loosely on the bar then retract my shoulder blades, tighten my glutes about 70%, tighten my glutes, 1 leg at a time I kick a leg out and bring it back as far as I can but still having the foot flat on the ground and point my toes out and dig my toes into the end so I won't slip when I go to drive up. Then I grab the bar like I want to break that bitch in 2 take 2 deep breaths and unrack. Tighten up and lower, touch barely without bouncing it and tighten the legs all the way and drive it up.

My goal for bench is 225x10. Be like nfl combine where they go for reps lol. Legs I want to squat 250 x10 and deadlift 300x5

I will say though I'm don't go in with the frame of mind to hit certain numbers or reps anymore. I just go with what feels good. Some days it's awesome the weight i do and other days I feel puny and weak. Eating cleaner and more and more water has been helping alot

As Brock mentioned Chris, pull them feet as far back under the knee as you can. When you do this you can drive your heels into the floor during the press motion of the lift and keep your ass on the bench. Usapl/ipf requires the feet to stay flat on the floor but you can even go up on your tippy toes. These two vids have some good info and show what I'm talking about.

So after reading reviews online it seems the Romelos are the cat's ass. But I did find a reebox crossfire lifter 2.0...anyone ever used them. Reviews were mixed but price is a little more bearable

Wife has them and likes them.

Dowins are another great lifter shoe at a friendly price.

Did some deads in the winstons today, very first thing I noticed is i usually barely drag the bar on my left shin. That drag point moved up to the top of my knee/quad. Don't know if that's a good or bad thing. And now a barely drag even on both legs now. But they felt great and I did feel a little more drive from my glutes and hams.
Did 225x12
315 x 10
365 x 8
415 x 6
445 x 4
Numbers are off from usual because it's way easier to throw on quarters than 45s lol usually stop at 435, but threw some 5s on at the end. Loved them over the nikes

What exactly is the difference in all the nanos? I saw they now have a nano 6

I honestly do not know all the differences. I went with the 5s since the 6s had just come out at the time(Amazon had a good deal on them and great reviews). I do more calisthenics and "crossfit" type workouts. With that being said, I didn't want a dedicated lifting shoe. The nanos work great for my squats and deads. They are extremely comfortable and seem to be holding up very well with the workouts I do.

Well to all the suggestions I'm going to go to a few places and try on shoes. Hopefully they have some of these as it'd be nice to try them on before buying a pair.
