Cool thanks. I think I might like the amber led marker on the housing. I found some for $224 a pair on ebay. I also think they are power extending. I am going to call monday and if they are power extend, heated, power adjust then I am going to pull the trigger.

There is a little tin plate on the drivers side bottom of the tran mission. You can pop that cover out and see if the torque converter is white, pink, black, blue, metalic brown, or purple

Each torque converter company paints them a certain color if its raw looking steel its most likely stock. If the pump rub fix hasnt been done to the t case your going to want to get that done also.

So if I pop the cover will tranny fluid come out?

Also, the pump rub fix? I will start searching, but if you quickly have a link it would be appreciated.

There is a tin cover or inspe tion plate if you will aprox. 2 x 4 on the bottom of the bellhousing on the alli if you just pop that inspection cover off you will be able to view the torque converter.

Its hard to search from my phone I will look tonite from the laptopfor the pump rub fix.Not sure if Merchant has directions on their sight or not.

There are other pump rub solutions besides Merchants that are much cheaper.... Like $20 or so plus the gasket and the tube of silicone. It is a steel plate that drops in under the pump. I don't like the Merchant one because it still uses the little steel clips that come in the factory case. The steel plate replaces the little clip and is cheaper. For the price of the Merchant kit I can also replace the rear seal on the case. Mike L sells the steel plate, but I got mine locally from a gear and driveline vendor because of the shipping issues to AK.

Having said that, Merchant's setup is pretty nice.

Oh, WELCOME!

Thanks guys. This makes me a touch nervous as my rig has 125000 miles on it. I hope the damage is not too bad.

Also, I have never removed a T-case so this could be a tough one for me. Anyone know where there is a video instruction of the process?

I am going to hop on youtube and search a bit

Well, got the tow mirrors on today. Surer easy to take the door off and the mirror is exact plug and play:thumb:

Also got the egr block plate on. Man those nuts are a pain in the nuts to get off. :buttkick:

Also conditioned the leather seats and cleaned her up good.

The muffler delete will go on tomorrow

Bed liner is getting layered on the running boards. Hope to get another can on and it will look thick enough that I will be satisfied for the durability.

Try using scrubbing bubbles bathroom cleaner on your leather seats. You will not believe how well it works, check out "the seat shops" website, they demonstrate how to do it properly. They will look brand new...

I will check it. I just don't want the thpical rips and tears on the entry edge of my seat. Got any magic tricks? For now I am just keeping it clean and conditioned.

Found an unused Banks torque converter for under a grand. Should I pick it up or just wait until I do the whole tranny? Would just a converter be suitable for 5-600 hp and the torque that goes along with it? Or do I really need a whole new updated tranny?

I don't know anything about the banks TC but I do know that you can't get by with just the TC bc then the stock clutches start to slip...

So I got the whistle from my blocker not being in all the way. i have since adjusted it and TIGHTENED. I think I am still getting a whistle though. The thing is, I can't really remeber what my rig sounded like before the EGR block. Should I be hearing some turbo whistle? Or if there is any whistle at all, it is the EGR?

Before, when I knew for sure it was the blocker, it seemed to whistle all the time (from the littlest amount of throttle) and when I got off the throttle, it stopped.

Now it seems to need more theottle to hear the whistle and it seems to wind down when I release the throttle.

Thoughts?

Take the blocker plate out and inspect the metal gasket, if a leak is present long enough the exhaust will burn a hole thru the gasket material not allowing it to seal up properly. But just so you know you should beable to hear your turbo whistle a bit so don't be paranoid...
