That's so funny. Just ordered 2 of his press in 10AN 90s before seeing that post. Be here Friday.

All said and done, would probably been cheaper to order the TuffStuff pumps with both AN fittings installed.. Had I known what model pumps to order...

Now ow many more 90s will it require to tuck a -10 & -6 fitting and hoses in there behind the belt tensioner??

On a side note, the mechanical monsters heads are shaping up nicely.

Accessory bracket cut, and after a little trim I think we are all good to go on front end assembly tomorrow.

Ever notice how when your looking for a cheap piece of 1/4" polished aluminum none is ever arround? Not to worry some will always show up when you fully intend to powder coat the pieces you had cut....

is there any way to turn the pump so the feed for the pump has gravity pushing it in? power steering pumps dont like to have to do any kind of "pulling" of the fluid when it comes to the feed side. you start to get cavitation and whining of the pump. might work ok at idle but as rpm increase, they get worse.

I upgraded all of the hose to 5/8 -- 10 AN as recommended by every power steering guy I've spoken to... The reservoir is above the pumps, but mounted 4 feet away on side of engine bay. So it should keep a little head pressure on em.

Since there will typically be two pumps running, the load on each should only be half of a single pump.

Will see you shortly...

, I think you will run into issues but hopefully not.

Power steering pumps are very temperamental on keeping good flow of oil to the pump. Had a long travel raptor try something similar to that and it whined soon as things got warm. Also had a buddy with a rock buggy with the hose parallel to the pump from the resi, wasnt enough and the thing would cavitate real bad as soon as you yanked the wheel back and forth 2 times. That was a full hydro setup.

I'm betting the wine of the turbos will cover the sound of the power steering pumps cavitating. Problem solved.. LOL

Like everything that's custom, you never know if it will work till you bolt it up and give it a try. Kinda like these brand new LBZ alternators I'm cracking open and modifying so I can clock the terminal where they fit where they fit the build.. Custom...

I hope so.. Issue is you have two pumps and one steering system. Old setup was based on two old Saginaw 1 pumps which are same as factory Dmax. Then they had a crossover tube connecting both reservoirs. I'd like to keep that space between engines open so you can walk thru there...

Exactly. The design is in case you lose one engine you still have power steering on the other. So each pump in normal operation, should have half of the flow and load that it would normally see in an automotive environment.

The system in the boat is based off 1/2 inch line, with two 3/8 line going to each pump. So through the cooler I upgraded that to1/2, then into Reservoir that feeds everything through 5/8 inch line, - 10 to pumps
