who thinks i should powder coat the valve covers and intake plenums while im here??? and what color do you all think?

If you do powder coat the valve cover ,dont have them sand blasted , they have to be hand prepped , any one who tells you other wise do not trust them as far as you can throw them ,you will never get all the sand out , a buddy of mine had to find out the hard way :(

ya i wasnt going to blast but how did you prep them?

X2 on what Trent said I blasted mine and wowi spent hours and hours trying to get all the sand out.

I used a drill with a brass brush on the end. Had a few different size bits used with brake clean.

Powder coating is real nice, paint it with high heat engine enamel is a cheaper option.

Good luck

well i think i was going to do the bd supermax for now then either put a 66mm comp wheel in it later or twin with an s480:confused: some many parts to choose from which to break first:rofl: but ya as of now i think im doing the bd supermax

on edit i tried just cleaning hem then using high tem paint an it wouldn't stick very good

Dont powder coat the inside of the valve covers. If you want a S366 make sure you get a T4 housing. BD is a T3 it will hold you back.

How exactly will it hold you back ? Max'd out went 9's with the t-3 in use still in a twin setup . And to jump up to a S400 platform you will be giving up Spool , and drivability along with loosing the internal gate so twins are now much harder to add on , and alot harder to tune with an external gate . For a pure comp truck , ya i would choose a t-4 turbo and twin off of it , but for a DD i would use the S300

an yea i was wondering bout having a t3 maybe i can call bd an see if they will swaop me out the t3 for a t4 still waitng for dan to call me................so hey can change my other mind once again

They don't make a t4 S300 , the t-4 s300 is a S400 just labeled different by bullseye ,Be careful who you take advice from, I would stick with guys who have actually ran the turbo they are suggesting .
