no lol unless you will be quick bout it  j/k if you want to but the motor will be in blackfoot

so i should only want to push 600 at the wheels with lmm rods:confused:??? an i would take it to utah but i really don't have the money to take it or ship it an drive down to get it an the local guy i can keep an eye him thanks for the info though trent if things change i'll give him a call :)

I would call before you choose , it may be cheaper in the long run i9f his prices are better , and like I said he has built alot of big power trucks , all tof he "Custom Auto" motors , Matt Moons , Dimitri's , Matt Larson's just to name a few .

It's not the rwhp you will be making that you need to think about it's what it will be making at the crank shaft. And if your looking at 650 rwhp it's going to be alot more at the crank in hr and tq and say good by rods and mybe even the block then.

so what will lmm rods do safe??i was always told they could take 650 thats all i really want to push 650 should let me run low 12's wouldn't it

The last time I dynoed my truck before it blew up it had a 4094 on it with a single cp3. The truck made 580 rwhp on that setup made it a few more months and then cracked a piston when I installed a wicked diesel reg and turned it up alittle more. The rods were checked and they were fine. I know Tomac bend a set at around the 700 mark or just before that to think I about it I think he snaped one in half have to look over some old post on the diesel place. You only have 65 thousands clearance from the rod to the side of the block to play chance with.

well sounds like if the tuning is good ill be ok to hit 600-650 with say water meth and new turbo and injectors to drop pulse width and timing. i just don't have the cash to spend another 2600 bucks im flirting with disaster but lmm rods is all i can afford so i really do want to thank you guys for the advice and support wish i could afford to do it all the way :( its already going to take me awhile to do whats planned

Speaking from years of building race engines, it is ALWAYS cheaper to spend the money now rather than later. You might think they will work, but ask yourself is a maybe REALLY worth it? I don't know much about the DMAX as far as what can take what, but I have played with some high HP small blocks in my day. We always found that paying now saved you ALOT more later even if it meant postponing your build.

Im figuring (hoping) they will be ok to 610-620, as that will give me some "margin". Just have to have ~590rw to run an 11...thats all I want.

~550 should allow you to run low 12's if you're smart with it. Truck has to be setup right to do it..suspension, weight reduction, etc. Just be smart with tuning. Dont be greedy.

Ferm...sometimes you just have to do what you have to do with the parts/funds at hand. Sucks, but thats the way it is for most people.

whats his number? i'll at least talk to him i knew he did all of james trucks were exactly is the shop at how long of a drive would i be looking at?

Randy's Engine & Machine (435)8964876

If you want 650 buy rods

X2 it may take a bit but it will fail eventually with stock rods , its alot of money to spend to build a motor that can still be hurt easily with a little too much power of a tuning mistake .

Every lb7 I have seen has some rust on the injector lines on the rear cylinders. I have been able to clean all but 2 of them up with a #8 glass bead and sandblaster from harbor freight. I have not had any problems doing that so far.

think im aiming for just 600 now changed the plan so just going to do 60% nozzles probably a s464 turbo from a guy on here and delipping the pistons while its apart and stud the heads an that's it got to get some bolts to put it on the engine stand so i can pull the heads and see how it looks inside

well its all apart ecept for the crank and rods injectors came out all the cups stayed seated now....
do i need to take the cups out to clean the heads up?
Does anyone have all the stock specs for everything on the block and crank ect.. i should check for play?
And who should i talk to at big dipper for nozzles?

also do i need to do an align hone without main studs????
the seals an everything look fine on the injectors should just need new copper washers right? or put new rings on them to?

an whats with the block moving with studs? im confused on this? what else is done while its apart weres a good source for the fuel system copper washers?
