well shit maybe i'll cancel the perfect circle ones how long for you could have them to me?
They should be the same rings. http://mahleclevite.com/p_lv_pistonrings.asp

MAHLE Original piston rings lead the way in ring technology and innovation for the Aftermarket – after all, MAHLE is the largest manufacturer of piston rings in the world. MAHLE Original rings (formerly Perfect Circle) are at the forefront of light vehicle piston ring technology.

If the studs are new, make sure you loosen one stud at a time and retorque to 125. Repeat that 3 times so you end up torqueing the studs to 125 4 times.

Interesting that ARP doesn't call for this, and I haven't heard of it in any other engine build that I have done or been involved in. Guess it really won't hurt anything long as you do one at a time...cheap insurance in case the studs do tend to stretch the first time they are stressed.

When I did mine I just cracked them all loose. Not all the way to take pressure off the head gasket just enough to redo the tq ea time. Then we left it over night and just went over each one the not loosening just set at the 125 and went thru the patern they all moved more just from the heat change over the night to day change.

Not sure if anyone has tried it on a Duramax but a trick with a sbc and BBC with alum head are to save from retq after it's been ran with heat. You take a heat gun or 2 if you have them 1 for each side make a heat funnel to all the runners and getthe heads to working temp then redo the tq. It saves alot of time when working on a race car with alot of turbo plumbing and other stuff to remove to to retq the heads.
