Okay...solenoid is swapped...pushed in silver plunger that cycles the vanes...a lot more turbo sound but still not a lot of turbo action...still working with fleece to get it fixed. Here's a new log with new codes in it lol...but from what I can tell it still seems like something's off here cause it shows the turbo making boost but the vanes are still not opening even though the tune is telling it to...

I'm about at my wits end with this shit...no one can give any other options? I guess there isn't a lot left aside from replacing the TVPS and that's it...haven't whacked it with a hammer yet but I'm getting ready too haha...I mean you can hear/see the vanes working with EFI just like they are stuck at a very limited range of motion...if that even makes sense

I love having a Fixed Geometry Turbo:D I highly doubt going to different tuning will be a cure all... JoshH's point of it being a mechanical problem is probably right. Even with stock tuning the turbo should operate properly

Did you check the wires to make sure you don't have any pinched wires or bad connections?

No pinched wires that I felt/saw...my thought is the same about the tuning..maybe vane pos sensor cause that's all that's left and on top of that the turbo works you can see that in the logs but the vanes aren't working properly...there's some whistle so you can tell they're working but very little...

OK, now I understand what your PM meant, sorry I didn't read the whole thread.

Put a stock tune in your truck and datalog it.

You should also hear the vanes cycle at idle (woooWHOOSHwooo...)

No cycling? Check wiring. IIRC, if you lock the vanes open, you'll still make 20psig with a full race tune at 2800rpm.

1 psi???? I can't imagine anything but a busted turbo or massive boost leak doing that, regardless of tuning, but who knows?

Thanks Pat I'll try running stock tune...it pretty much sounds like a nasty big block gasser at idle..I'll try logging another run. What to do if those wires are f'd? None look bad but I'm no rocket surgeon

Well since I am retarded and can't post a video to YouTube right now you can't hear but j hear no whoosh at idle anyone that wants to listen to the video I can text/email it to confirm there's no cycling. I just don't get it because the turbo is making boost...anyone have an extra vane position sensor for an LLY?

Is your gauge showing more than 3 lbs of boost? That's about the most I see on the last log you posted. That's not enough to indicate the vanes are actually moving. Unless the info in your log is incorrect, I feel pretty confident in saying you have either an electrical or mechanical problem with the vanes. I don't think it's a tuning or sensor problem.

Thanks again everyone. Is there a way other than depressing the silver plunger to cycle the vanes? Or how do I figure out the electrical side of it?

I really wish I could tell you. I would recommend tracing the wires as far as you can and doing a continuity check. Maybe find where they are in the bale connectors and check continuity from there.

Maybe with efi you can move the vanes manually with the dvt's and check the signal at the connector that controls the vanes?

have you tried to go WOT or moderate throttle? I saw your log and it didn't go much over 11% throttle...
