Sorry to interrupt the "Wonderful World of Wade" hour, but back to a tech question....

What kind of piston-to-wall clearances can you run with these compared to OEM specs?

There quite a bit tighter than an aluminum slug. I don't have actual numbers but they usually run about half of what a forged aluminum one recommends.

what a tard!!!
top fuel cars DO diesel down the track...what do you think happens when the mags fail?

mike woods has a duramax is all his cars...
my stuff runs whatever i want it too yep 1/4 too, can you hang, then STFU

big rigs run steel pistons for fuel economy.....again you need to get off of mcrats and guys and steve's nut sack, maybe then you would learn something...

you folks amaze me...i tried to help..im done.

No Wade. TF cars don't diesel. The valves and plugs get so hot that they act like a glow plug engine (think Cox engine).

You keep saying that you're "done". I think your condition is either over-cooked or burned.

But I wish you'd be more rare ...

What are the egt's that are being seen by pat and others having problems with forged pistons? What are the main problems are people having with forged pistons ?

I don't personally know , with my own experience i haven't had enough passes on my Arias to know either way , but i will be sticking with them to find out . The one down fall i have seen personally in my own truck is when i ran out of water with the forged pistons the extreme heat cause by having no water caused them to grow in size enough to scrap the bores , where as the same failure in the next engine with the cast pistons came out un-scaved , the power level was a little lower on the second time ( 106 mph 1/8 VS 114 MPH 1/8 ) but ran with no water longer ( broke at 330 ft ) so its probably six's .

Trent what was you're piston to wall clearance? Any piston with extreme heat will grow. Wade if your were any more stupid they would have your picture in the dictionary! Why do you talk about something you know nothing about? By the way stupid I will be bringing something to come and get some!!!! I have heard about as much as I can stand. You better be ready to race!!! SIDE BY SIDE because I promise I will be at what ever event you go to. I will see for myself how a lite weight tube chassis vehicle will be with a duramax in it. Jeff

I would love to whittle out a set of steel pistons. No way I would feel comfortable selling them tho. Way too many variables. Still, for my own play......

But you're all right. No one can design something like that on their own.

How reliable are top fuel motors? I can't see the comparing a motor that we want to make last for street/strip/pulling and a race motor thats rebuilt after every run.
I have a buddy that has a signed piston from someone i cant remember the name off hand but the car burns a set of pistons every run i couldnt believe it and another friend said he had heard the same thing so i guess the live a 1/4 mile at a time and i have nothing to back this up only what i have been told

Yes, the only thing with a shorter life than a Kim Kardashian marriage is a Top Fuel piston.

Wade to think you are the only fast guy around shows your ignorance THERE IS ALWAYS SOMEONE FASTER, even if you were the fastest prostreet truck which remains to be seen if you can ever make a record 1/4 mile run.I keep trying to give you the benifit of the dought but im thru not that that means anything to you but i dont care.
If Jeff can run as fast as he does with a stock motor i cant wait to see what he can do with a lite weight chassis and some top of the line go fast parts,He strikes me as the guy that can do more with less so watch your back better install the rear view mirror in that truck because sooner of later your gonna get passed :hello:

What I don't get is why Wade gives a shit.

Does he read Tampon reviews and post, "I use pads, so you shouldn't use tampons!!!" ?

Most would just skip over it since it's not their concern either way.
