LB7: Truck feels fast for a short time......

What about the air intake sensor (MAF) off the air cleaner? Been cleaned off lately? These realy effect the LB7s (but it should be constant, not on and off with tune reloading). :dontknow: Wonder if for some reason there is a problem with the fuel pressure sensor and it's going on you. This would limit fuel pressure, but I don't think it would limit timing.

MAF is reading ok, Air sensor? I did delete my heater a while back. New K&N about 2000 miles ago. I have no codes, if it would only really screw up so it would trip the light!!!!!

Anyone have any suggestions where to look? Truck runs fine just has something limiting main injection timing. What could limit timing (sensors, or hard parts???) I think its safe to say it is not in the tuning, I have had multiple guys try and get the same result. At this point I will bring it to someone if they can fix it.

Does your truck run hot, maybe some temp sensor is messed up and limits base on coolant temp or baro? Just throwing out ideas

i would monitor all the sensors that deal with your motor you can with the scan tool, reflash and record untill it drops fuel again. dont know if you've done that already

Didn't duratothemax have an issue for along time of hitting cutting out fuel quantity at random times also? Wonder if its doing the samething and what he did to fix it

Drove it last night again, seems like it is trying to push through it??? It is slow then a quick burst and it keeps doing that if you try to hammer it? I am going to swap out the throttle pedal with another one I have.

Just an FYI for anyone trying to choose a tuner, I highly recommend Trent @ EPR, I only purchased a tune from him to see if it was in the tuning, he has been more than willing to help and continues to follow up and give me suggestions on where to look and has offered to try numerous things to see if we can narrow it down. I have dealt with a hand full of dmax guys that have been very helpful and Trent is definitely on that list!! Thank you Trent!!!! :thumb:

I have tried contacting Ben Tyler a few times on here as well as on Facebook, he has never returned any messages??? I'd love to bring it to him so he can see what is going on in person.

I think it needs a cp3 and new regulator. Even if the logs show otherwise it just sounds like it has to be the problem. But i don't know anything just my 2 cents! Its a lot of work but if its not the tuning i don't see what the hell else it could be than the cp3 or regulator. Do you have anyone with a good cp3 you could try to see if it fixs the issue?

his cp3 is fairly new, his original one grenaded last year and puked its guts all over. I am pretty certain there is either a bad sensor or a faulty FICM/ECM in my opinion

Its not a simple part like that , several others and myself have threw everything we know at the problem , its hitting a point where the MM3 is limiting full time best i can tell , the reason the timing wont go over 22 is the MM3 is low so it follows suit , and also the same reason power falls off , i am stumped on this one , but sent Justin another tune over today to see if we can force feed hoping we can just band aid it in the mean time , hopefully we can force it some fuel and get the truck working OK till the problem gets bad enough to actually throw a code or show its face .

FWIW, my truck right now has a dead pedal, mm3 is limited, when cold. it will absolutely not give me response until the truck warms up to approx 170 degrees. If, say, the fuel temperature sensor was unplugged or not reading correctly, would the ECM limit fuel to xx MM3 until the fuel reached a baseline temp? could the same be said for the ECT sensor? Justin's issue doesn't seems like a rail pressure sensor because it is intermittent, the sensor is pretty stout. so what else limits fuel in an lb7? throttle input right? he said he was going to change the pedal, maybe that works....if it doesn't could we safely assume the ECM is just not reading and interpretting the data correctly after a short while?
