I may be speculating here, but if the crank sensor was that FUBARed, I would expect something messed up in the timing drive. maybe alignment pin broke and came out flying around? I would be inclined to take the front cover off and see what you find Justin.

Deff possible justinIt started running like shit again, I am going to pull the sensor again and check the wheel, and most likely pull the front cover and inspect and fix whats broken, about 3 years ago we did the water pump and for some reason the balancer loosened and came off and sheared the aligment pin, it broke the rear housing off of my trans so it may cause the wheel and or timing gear some damage too??? It would explain my intermittent timing issue right??
think you could leave it in the truck, just have to remove everything off the front to pull the front cover
