So basically it might get most the way there hp wise and possibly dd and wont tow certain things, but yet people still say singles will do what twins or triples will. I guess im confused on the confusion here.:roflmao:

No I totally agree with you !! Which is why I went with a big brother for the gtx .

Has anyone ever thought of using two smaller turbos , say 2 s366 instead of one bigger charger?
I think you would have to have a really good air to water cooler and great heads to flow at a low enough CR, but I haven't done the math on it to see how much
how hard are guys pushing the big singles ie 480s as a single? I would be really curious to see what they have done to keep it in the MAP

Taken from CompD

S480/116-----120lbs/min

Compare to a 366
S366/91.5------76lbs/min

looks like the 106s are in the 180-190 range so that would make twin 480s be the same as a 106+50-60 lb/min...
I don't think they will flow their full amount I think that in most cases you can't drive them hard enough to get full potential. But I do think that they will outflow a big set of Twins

yea that would be a stupid amout of fuel to push those as primaries lol. Thinking at least 250s with a healthy PW

Was a single cast 475 but now it is a billet 483.

Im in the process of building a motor and am still not 100% sure as to what im going to run for a turbo/turbos.I was really leaning towards the triple route a 72 paired with two s366. on the other hand theres a part of me that just wants to jam on a large single and be done with it. whats the largest single anyone has run on here that doesnt have to worrie about towing and wont have an ungodly amount of lag??

I know Eric (Wisconhick1) has a 475 and is a DD puller, drag racer with 100 overs and he gets pretty dam good fuel milage with it considering it has a 7 inch lift and larger tires.I think he has his lift turned down to 4inch right now IIRC.I think he ran an 11.67 i think .

That wasnt directed towards u mpsoldier. More towards the dont understand the twin and triple craze. How many singles make 1000hp and still street driven and can pull trailers. None. That to me would explain the twin and triple craze.

No problem for me its just a hobby and something to focus on when i am here keep my mind off of this place. Thats why i ask learn alot from being here and cant work on anything so reading up on things is the second best :thumb:

I run a billet S475 as a daily driver, towrig, weekend worrior drag racer. It's definately not ideal for towing but my trans tune makes it work well for towing. Dustin with Diesel Addiction was running a cast S480 on his daily driver, he also towed up to 10k with it without issue, just had to keep the rpms up. With a 5 speed trans it will work way better than on my truck. Sometimes I wish mine was a 5 instead of a 6 it makes a big difference.

yeah he told me about that, I told him i was thinkin of triples and he didnt realy like the idea. Im j.w of how bad the turbo lag would be if i tossed a 480 or something on it as this is my dd truck

Dustin's just not a big fan of twins and trips, that doesnt mean they dont have there place. My single works fine for me but if you do allot of towing I would look into multiple turbos.

jason Wherli (quadracer) had 3 s483s i believe,he just sold them.Wonder if he's going bigger:eek:
that seems awfully big for a streetable truck, smokey & laggy till they light
I would like to know how much air that gtx45 and 2 s480 flow. It has to be a lot more than a precision 106.
it has to be more than a 106mm cause thats what they replaced, truck did almost 126 in the 1/8th with the new setup. probably be the 1st full bodied Dmax in the 8s

as in parallels? Banks, NX dragster, wade & Comps dragster run 60-64s on high revving high flowing engines on nitrous
