well guys the s366 fleece made it in today along with the head studs and the top end gasket set the tranny was built last weekend. all the part are coming in and i am down here in keys working just a update for you

Remind me again why in the hell are you adding headstuds with a turbo that sees 35-40 psi? FYI I hit 55psi on stock head bolts as do many many others without issues.

Some people are luckier than others. I run around 38-40psi and I definitely have pressure in my coolant when I run it hard. At the end of the last pull I was at it sprayed coolant out the cap all over the place

I dont have a dp gauge but it only seems to happen when pulling at high rpms. And I'm assuming there would be plenty of backpressure haha

If you plan to make 650-700 then don't do studs until you're pulling the motor to replace it with a windowless block.:roflmao:

I'm assuming its normal to have some pressure in your radiator hose when hammering the truck correct? Not rock hard, but you can squeeze the hose and feel some pressure. 10-14psi correct? But I so agree that blowing coolant out of the cap is not good lol.

I forgot the truck was in 3rd so when I went to bump the shift lever up into neutral it just went into drive. Converter stayed locked and the truck went from ~4k rpms to stalled instantly. Somehow I had coolant on my windshield. Hasn't stopped me from doing it again though lol

After my twins Im shooting for 630-650 on stock injectors but may stay around 600 if the tuning gets outa control to make 650. I will be running stock head bolts no studs well hopefully. Im hoping to run low 12's I almost slipped into the 7's in the 1/8 with pretty much a stock truck thats a cc/lb.

i just personally dont see the need of pushing tuning that hard to 32*+ of timing.. for what? 20 hp? cuz it will pop and then you will be like arg arg arg so and so's tuning popped my truck.

id rather have mine safe and buy the necessary parts to make it get quicker and make bigger power and keep tuning on the safe side. just my opinion..

Well guys we got it all put on and keep the hp under 650 and the tq at 1100 i will have picture posted up this week i would like to say THANK YOU to all you for the input on this

I will just have to say that reading threads like these make me think two things:

1) Some of you guys run very "optimistic" dyno numbers, and your 1/4 ET and mph dont reflect the power you think you have.

2) You are all nuckin futs. :roflmao:

600 or higher on stock bottom, no matter who tunes it, is just asking for trouble. Good luck to all of you doing it right now, but in the end, you'll all be rebuilding your engines. Been there.


I rock 630hp 1300 tq on stock lly bottom end and no head studs.. Fleece tuned.. Never misses a beat.. U good

Torque bends rods... High rpm, low torque is the way to make high hp and have the engine last
