Got the truck back together and have been out testing. I haven't really payed attention on whether or not the manifolds and up pipes made a difference or not...

Converter is definitely much better than my old precision but it acting rather tight for some reason. Evan is calling suncoast in the morning to see what they say. It flashes at 1500 rpm and takes a bit to stall over 2000 rpm, it will stall to 2500 rpm but it sure takes a minutes. Either way, I am much happier with this converter:D

lockup is rather firm/crisp compared to the precision. I love it!

Little bit more to update here...ordered a big bottle of ARP ultra torque assembly lube and a socal diesel rocker arm stud kit. Should be here thursday. My parts closet is stacking up parts nicely:D

I am loving this suncoast 1055 converter with this s480 single. This thing is a blast to drive and it street drives better than my s472 ever did. The top end is insane, never stops pulling. The butt dyno says I picked up power going from the 72 to the 80mm. I am very tempted to actually throw it on the dyno to see the comparison.

how's it doing after lockup cruising down the highway? noticable lag over over the 72 at that point?

boost numbers change on the top end? Just curious

Yes, lag did change slightly when locked up. Boost dropped a few psi, max I would see with the 72 was 43-44 psi, now the max I see is 40-41.

Do you have a drive pressure gauge? I'd be curious what that looks like with the small turbine wheel.
