So 468 single or s480/stock? Tow 6-8k during summer so it makes me want twins, but stock turbo has 168k on it
What he saidS480/lly by Russell
Which fits your budget better? Haha.. 480'over stick will be great.. 68 will be a lot more simple and easier to install
Why a 480? A 75 will spoil quicker and make enough power to destroy your bottom end. I loved the way my truck drove with stocker/billet 475. Ran 7.2x mid 11's with junk transmissions and could harldy make it smoke with 40% Inj. EGT's stay in check all the time. Absolutely no issues towing whatever you want.
I have a 68 single and it'll tow heavy just fine.. Just have to keep rpms around 2000, normally 5th gear is good to go.. Just don't wanna use cruise in any hills though..
Compounds will definitely be more friendly, but I do like the simplicity of a single and also the sound of a single fixed vane lol.

I'm with Harbin. But I'll add this, you WILL be well within piston cracking territory. And honestly with IMO, you will lose a piston before bending a rod on lbz/lmm. JMHO
I'm plenty aware been there done that parted out the built motor truck to buy a bigger house.
I was one of the ones that thought it couldn't happen to them LOL.
