06 LLY code engine is still an LBZ with LBZ pistons.

1200ft lbs seems to be max on lb7-lly rods and 1300ft lbs max on lbz-lmm. this does not take into account for the one weak rod your truck may have or slightly weaker rods compared to the next set.

I think I would be really happy with 1000ft lbs honestly. If I could keep it cool and egt's down i typically run 2200-2400 rpm when on the freeway.

I've heard that there were two manufacturers for lbz pistons. Which is why some are stronger than others.
Anyone ever here of this?

You will not get a better do it all setup than some smallish Twins IMOP. Pull like a bastard and not run hot, drag race when you want and just be docile when your putting around. I will never go back to a single unless I'm really broke:D

Yeah i would like exactly that, only issue for me is the kit has to be built on the truck since no one has anything for the Kodiak.

I don't want to slap the 475/480 on and then my stock turbo shit the bed

so check it. if it has the normal play, you have nothing to worry about. correct tuning will actually prolong the life of the stock turbo when compounded.

Just broke a piston on my LBZ @ 225k with stock turbo. Replacing it with an older LBZ that I hope has some LLY pistons in it.

What are the torque numbers everyone is talking about HP, im trying to make more torque also. I pulled my trailer with a 2016 Powerstroke and it did great power wise. Im trying to get into the same or better area with the Kodiak.

I doubt that rumor is true about early LBZ having LLY Pistons. I know they do have the LLY head gaskets.

Transgo jr? enough? :) What does a built trans consist of that you are referring to?

at your weight, nnnnnnooooooooo wwwwwwaaaaaaaaayyyyyyy lol. you will need a min all the normal internal mods and upgraded clutches from either Evan or Suncoast. Then you need a converter that will actually hold the torque.

if you tow alot i would do s475 or s476 over stock. If you tow occasionally and want more pull up top do an s480

Too much bottom end and you'll kill the pistons and/or rods, high rpm power is easier on the motor.

Might be exactly why my new EFI live tune that made 22PSI in the mid range and 26 peak broke the truck, when we put 10,000 miles on it with the PPE Level 2 that only made 18psi max. IDK Rob said the tune was fine, truck was a pig at only 18 psi. Drove it from Seattle to Connecticut and back towing the trailer.

26 psi didn't break your truck.
