Ok so with that out of the way....Why would anyone want a S366? Especially if they cost more.

What are the closest comparables/competitors to a 464 in performance and price?

How big of increments does the 464 go when upgrading? 464/468/470/472/....???

S300 is a great turbo , the smaller turbine wheel makes it spool a little faster than the S464 along with tight A/R's available , plus its a internally waste gated charger so that drives the cost up and is a nice feature , but the down fall is they are known for being hard on bearings on Dmax's , cost is high and no room to upgrade with out selling and starting over .

The S400's I offer in my single turbo kits =

S464 ( 64mm)
S466 (custom built 2.6 schied rules legal / no bushing , 66mm inducer X 100mm exducer and along with any of these listed are available with the 83mm or 87mm turbine wheel )
S472 ( 71mm)
S475 ( 75mm)
S480 ( 80mm)

aside from these I sell Garrett , Holset , also.

What do you mean? The only bearing problems I've heard of is when the BD kits first came out there were a few cases of spun cam bearings, but they fixed that with the side of the block oiling location.

I ran an S300 on my truck for 2 years and had the bearings replaced twice so annually but never did let them get bad enough to "fail" but if the turbo was off and there was shaft play i fixed it, also know 2-3 other guys running them with a similar story , if you search here there are a few other's that have lost BD turbo's on this site just this year

some say HTT uses better bearings , yet I have never had it verified when I have asked other turbo shops and I bought the best bearings Gillett could find when mine was rebuilt the first time. I sell S300's , both ( HTT and BD ) so am not bashing them , just what i have experienced .

Video please

Snagged a video while I was out driving the new turbo setup around :D , really liked it , 110% drivable , spools real nice , power is good , and EGT's are decent for a small turbo and 3200 usec tune , they stay around 1550 , and maybe touch 1600 by 100 mph or so. made sure to get video of the Gage. Truck is a bit loud because its only running a down pipe , no exhaust sounds sweet I think :D This turbo is fun to drive , hits surprisingly hard and fast, has that big single punch and still spools nice , traction was def trouble some with stock 265 and cold roads , made for fun driving though

Staging spool up test = 2k stall converter , stock 265 tires .

I dont really have any EFI experience so cant relate that to anything...
Can you guess what kind of power that tune with turbo is making??
What might the EGTs hit by the end of the 1/4?
Boost range in the 40s?

Its basically as big of a tune you can run on a stock CP3 and is equivalent yo most "race tunes" , egt's will probable be at high 15's to 1650 by the 1/4 , my S300 used to hit 1800 , boost will be in the low 40's in the higher gears with the converter locked up.

Beat me to the video :p

Lets see your Tony , I have to admit , I was skeptical but this is a fun little turbo , took my brother for a ride about 30 min ago and he was surprised also , I would guess that this turbo with the stock tires is almost as fast as the twins with 35's and 20's , but dont think for a minute that it wont get another set of compounds ;) , it just might be using the 464 as the little guy

Trent, ive been thinkin latley about stickin my S472 in as a single for now and maybe later use that as the bottom charger for some huge twin set later? Whats your feelings on how it would do on the street/track. Its 1:32A/R and the big turbine 88mm? Also has a race cover. Now no towing or haulin, just ass anyway:D Im guessing it may be a bit laggy but that dosnt bother me. And run un-gated? Fueling mods are self-modded CP3, 50% extrudehones, dual feed line/blocked FPRV, good lift pump and TTS pickup in the tank. Just lookin for some feelers on how it may do. Ive got to get the bodywork done first and get some greenbacks to throw at it. I may give you a jingle on an install kit down the road:thumb:

i think that would be to big of a housing and turbine...

Going to have to agree...my 475 was a 1.10 housing and didn't spool till about 2400 rpms...maybe your fueling mods would help but idk...also curious is that a T-6 housing or t-4? And it might be better to pick up a smaller housing while running it as a single

Its a T-6, its a Big MO-FO! Like i said though, its all just a fun truck, its gonna be just for goin fast and lookin good:rofl: Im curious if ive got enough fuel to get it on the charger in a reasonable manner? I really want dual fuelers but I know that will be the demise of the engine so that has to wait till I have a better job  I can handle some lag, i kinda like the feeling when it lights and scares ya some:rofl:

I'd find a cheap 1.10 housing then....don't think the T-6 would work in a traditional single setup cause finding a pedestal would be a bitch cause you'd have to have one custom made as far as I know

Hmm, ill have to give this some more thinking. It may need to wait then. If needs be, i can fab a pedestal and all. Another consideration is that ive kinda wanted to get the turbo out of the valley so a ped may not be needed. If big nasty twins went in they would both be off the pass. side so i could put a single there now. I want the turbo out of the valley for some custom intake work:thumb:
