If you think your going to do twins eventually wouldn't the S366 be a better choice? It is already gated, Then add your larger turbo later?

I have a S464 single going on my tow rig in the next week or 2 , I ran a S366 for 2 years I will post some fed back comparing the 2 .

that would be awesome!! Id really like to know. I think id rather have a truck that could light up the turbo quickly instead of the lag. :)

It is a great choice for twins , if it wasn't for cost I would like them a lot more, If your building the twins yourself it might be something to consider , I external gate charger's all the time for my bigger kits . And the S4 twin set will make more power than the S3 twin set once its twinned, and probably when its a single also , and the S4 twin set can be upgraded a whole lot bigger than where it will start at in the long run , clear up to a PBK kit with only a wheel / cover change on the top turbo and a new charge pipe ;) same piping can all still be used , not that that apply's to what the OP wants though . There are a lot of ways to do this and more than what I am suggesting , I have just chose to use the S4 frame a lot and as a base because there are a lot of things I like about it especially the flexibility . I have been in the spot of having a S3 kit , needing bigger and having few options other than a whole new kit.

How well would the S4 tow in town (stop n go traffic) with about 6K and then a 11K TT on the highway and though the hills?

I think it would work fine , but I will be testing it on my truck here in the next week or so to play with some idea's , I live at 5k ft elevation , and the lifted truck has a tight converter and 35's , it will be a god test for lag asi am going from stock turbo twins to that charger, and I have a 10k lb 5ther that I will be hooked to for testing also ;) Dale (LBZ) has towed with his and he said it worked just fine , said EGT's were pretty cool .

I posted some new pics of a gloss black coated S464 kit in my vendor section tonight .

so instead of going with the S366 go with something in the S4 range?? And this will be good for street use? So how big or small would be a good one to run?

S4xx all the way. my buddy daily drives with a S480 (a little to big for most ppl) another friend of mine has a 475 on his truck. i am going 472 a nice 2.8 charger that i can twin with a S510 down the road or with 2 S475

so you shouldnt have any problem with a 464. plus Trent wouldnt sell anything that he wouldnt run on his own truck(s) and lag can be taken care of by tuning. and towing can be taken care of with tuning also. just change your shift points.

If your concerned with lag and have to tow, then I wouldn't recommend going bigger than a 66mm , regardless of who you buy it from or what brand turbo you end up choosing .

I built myself a single kit this weekend and am dropping it off to be coated tomorrow , I will have some vids showing the spool up , egt results on a race tune , ect with in a week , and like I said I am pulling my twins off and putting the S464 on , so it has a tough shoe to fill :D

Any progress on this? Im curious about how the single 464 handles daily driving/towing aswell.

Im having a tough time finding much info about the s366 online, maybe just not looking in the right places

For those wanting info on the S464 single kit. This is my intial impressions/install pictures post. I'll try and keep this thread as up to date as I can and continue giving my input as possible. I'll start with the kit itself.

S464 kit with 3" boost tubes, 4" downpipe, RDL T-4 pedestal, LB7 y-bridge and EPR 5" intake powdercoated candy blue. Note for all LLY+ guys: the EGR will be deleted and water lines from the VVT can be bypassed as well as EGR water lines. Also you will need to source your own LB7 bridge.

Trent's coater knows what he's doing! :D The coating is top notch.

The intake and fab work with the 3" boost tubes is also top shelf stuff and looks real sharp.

The install itself is very straight forward however I will include some notes for those new to this thing.

1. The MAF is a directional item  (IE connector goes up)
2. Connect the oil drain tube to the turbo before putting the turbo on the motor..it's much easier that way.
3. The downpipe is a tight fit with the trans dipstick but it WILL work
4. Hooking the oil feed into the block is a pain but keep wrenchin!
5. If at all possible bolt the exhaust housing to the pedestal on it's own then slide the turbo in as the front right exhaust housing bolt is a biotch with it all in one. I didn't have room on my LLY to do it this way so I had to do it the hard way.

Other than that it's all really easy.

Now for the good stuff:
My initial impressions are this turbo is nothing short of awesome. Granted I haven't had twins but this is a GREAT single turbo option. I've had a little experience in the turbo department as I went from a stocker to a 68mm Cheetah to a S475 now to this S464 and this will be my last turbo unless I twin it.
Spool is quick...like comparable to stock IMO. Turbo's got a great whistle and pulls hard for being a little guy! EGT's stay in check for daily street driving/romping on it. Put probably 250-300 miles on since install and couldn't be more pleased. Haven't towed anything as of yet but am still super happy and would have no hesitation doing so. Wanted to thank Trent for what I consider the best customer service in the industry...regardless of time of day or stupidity of the question. Yes folks there are stupid questions and I've had a few :spit::eek:

I'll try and get spool up videos and some more pictures as well.

Also hopefully this weekend I'll have some results pertaining to how the turbo acts at elevation (approx 6700-6800ft) at Big Bear...I'll keep you all posted.
