Hoping its just the nuts - figured cuz its something I did lol. I did reuse the gasket though.... I beleive. Cant remember if the new kit came with them, as I was piecing some parts together. Initial look cant even see the drain nuts, anyone have any tips on best way to access it? Top or bottom, side, removal of parts, etc?

come on Matt... fix the leak run the truck then go from there
Look ya got Nick scared now!
thats what your gauge says...the dmax oil pump has a high pressure relief valve set to open at ~65-70psi. (they say 64psi, but ive seen them not open at 64psi when cold)
So even when the engine is cold and oil is thick...the pressure still cant get above "64 psi"
Unless the oil is so thick that once the bypass opens, it still isn't enough area to bypass enough oil to drop the pressure.
Matt, I have a fix for you that will give you more room in front of the MP. I have been working on a high flow 3" intake bridge for quite some time now. The CNC'd flanges are still being made at the machine shop, but I should have them by next week! It took alot longer to get the Cad drawings completeded then expected. I also had to find another shop to do the machine work, because the first shop thought I was crazy trying to make a Duramax faster/breathe better. And didn't take me serious. Im working on LBZ/LMM right now, but LB7/LLY bridges will be shortly after, Patent pending. See the pic below for an idea how it's going to look (you get the idea).
