We had it idling for 20 minutes. Oil pressure was initially 60 psi at cold idle, went down as it warmed up. Never got above 10% throttle position, 2500rpm or 30mph.

so why did it all of a sudden start leaking when you drove, if it was idling for 20 minutes? was it coming from the back of the motor?

why was oil pressure so low? mine IIRC is over 90 at cold idle... must have had low oil already

thats what your gauge says...the dmax oil pump has a high pressure relief valve set to open at ~65-70psi. (they say 64psi, but ive seen them not open at 64psi when cold)

So even when the engine is cold and oil is thick...the pressure still cant get above "64 psi"

Ben, If the oil is thick the relief valve can be open and be just not relieving fast enough....That is why it shows higher.

All it is is a spring holding the valve shut....when pressure increases it starts to open,The spring is fully depressed at 64 psi.

Especially if you have a hi flow oil pump...;)

Hoping its just the nuts - figured cuz its something I did lol. I did reuse the gasket though.... I beleive. Cant remember if the new kit came with them, as I was piecing some parts together. Initial look cant even see the drain nuts, anyone have any tips on best way to access it? Top or bottom, side, removal of parts, etc?
