OK so does anyone else have an idea here?

After talking to Paul sounds like his intake wont work...

I need more clearance between the back of the LMM intake tract (cool side of intercooler into engine) and the front of the turbo.

The mouthpiece that came with my HTT kit was too deep, so I cut about an inch off the collar where it attaches to the turbo, still wouldnt fit.

The LLY/LBZ install instructions (which i found after installing it, using the LB7 instructions LOL ) dont say anything about it, just put the stock mouthpiece back on the turbo. So neither the LB7 mouthpiece or the stock LMM mouthpiece fit on there.... just doesnt make sense.

ANYTHING I CAN DO? Flex line, a boot, something?

Matt,

I'd be happy to ship the pre-luber to you. I just need it back asap.

Ask the guys that say not to prelube if they are willing to send you as much money to fix your burnt engine as they are in advice.

Assuming you start the engine without prelubing:

Oil is drawn through the pickup in the rear of the engine by the oil pump which is in the very front of the engine.

Pressurized oil is then sent back to the rear of the engine through a galley on the side of the block where it fills the oil filter.

Filtered oil then makes it's way into the cooler which it again needs to fill and then on to the oil galleys in the side of the block where it needs to travel all the way to the front of the block before it can begin to supply oil to the front rod and main bearings.

:eek:lcoot:

Matt you can use 4" flex. PPE has it I know. I have 5" of it but no 4" or I'd send it to you. Summit sells it too but it's really cheesy

it won't work on mine... I had 4inch McMaster Carr tubing... will not work unless the turbo is lifted. I have been forced to buy a 2 inch spacer for the turbo which cause the need for a custom hot side boost tbe and downpipe. I have been saying this all along

Matt, I have a fix for you that will give you more room in front of the MP. I have been working on a high flow 3" intake bridge for quite some time now. The CNC'd flanges are still being made at the machine shop, but I should have them by next week! It took alot longer to get the Cad drawings completeded then expected. I also had to find another shop to do the machine work, because the first shop thought I was crazy trying to make a Duramax faster/breathe better. And didn't take me serious. Im working on LBZ/LMM right now, but LB7/LLY bridges will be shortly after, Patent pending;). See the pic below for an idea how it's going to look (you get the idea).

Team critical:spit:

I remember using the lame stock lly mouth piece with my HTT .
I put it on Abby and needed a spacer to clear my custom Y Bridge,The turbo actually touched the Y bridge it was so close.

Matts truck is a whole lot different though,Maybe a short chunk or 4" silicone hose to a pipe and then the other hose would work for now untill he could get something better?

Ready to fire, I need a Hot side IC clamp for the boot off the turbo.

GM says its only sold with hot side pipe and they want $800 for it, :spit::spit:

Anyone have an idea what part number for the clamp?

Or where I can get a good one locally?

Go to a semi repair shop.. or even an allison dealership. And BTW you can buy them from GM you need to go to a different dealer if they say it costs 800$.

It should be just a normal 2.5-2.75 band clamp/turbo clamp  Napa carries them or any big truck shop .
